Welcome to Worthy View! We hope you will really enjoy staying with us over the Festival. In order to get the most out of your stay, please have a look at the information provided in this pack and keep updated whilst onsite with our Twitter Check In We will be operating a 24hr check in on Wednesday and Thursday night, however, it helps us if you try to arrive prior to 10:00pm Wednesday & Thursday from 8:00am and then 24hrs Friday 7:00am 14:00pm Saturday 9:00am 12:00pm (midday) Sunday 9:00am 12:00pm (midday) Outside of these times there will be a 24hr manned information point at the Pink check in (close to the main toilet point) and the Worthy View Staff will be able to help you with any queries. Arrival On approach to the Worthy View Entrance please follow the directions below to help us speed up your check in process: Please can all members of your booking arrive together and have their festival tickets in their hand The lead booker to be at the front of your group, with the confirmation showing your Worthy View booking reference number to hand. The members of this booking should follow the lead booker in the same entry lane IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR FESTIVAL TICKET, YOU WILL NOT BE GRANTED ADMISSION TO WORTHY VIEW Once you have gone through the Worthy View Entrance you should make your way to your Colour check in Area (shown on your confirmation ) and the staff will advise you of the location of your accommodation
If you need to collect a ticket from the international ticket collection cabin please do so before you arrive at Worthy View, as you will not be able to enter Worthy View without a valid Festival ticket. You will only be issued with sufficient Worthy View wristbands for the maximum occupancy of your tent. Please do not arrive expecting to squeeze more people into your tent, as we are not able to accommodate additional guests. Likewise if you have friends who are staying on the main festival site they will not be able to visit you in Worthy View; it s not worth dragging them up the hill as they won t be allowed access! The only exception to this is that if you have a child aged 12 or under then we will allow one child per two & four person accommodation unit and two children per six & eight person accommodation unit. Check Out Please vacate the campsite on the morning of Monday 30 th June. (The campsite will be closed at 5pm that afternoon.) Please remember to LEAVE NO TRACE. Access to Worthy View Pedestrian Access We understand you may have car shared with people who are not staying at Worthy View and have to enter Glastonbury Festival through Gate A, B, C or D. If this is the case, head to Pennard Hill Gate, at the top of the Stone Circle and Tipi Field. Once you ve walked up the hill to the Village Green, identify yourself to the stewards who will arrange for you to be transferred round to the Worthy View Entrance Gate and for you to check in to your accommodation. Shuttle Bus Access from Castle Cary Train Station For 2014 we have arranged a free direct shuttle bus from Castle Cary Train Station to Worthy View. This service will be signposted Worthy View and is service GF4. Wednesday 8:00am 23:00pm Thursday 8:00am 23:00pm Friday No direct service, please transfer from Festival Bus Station Saturday No direct service, please transfer from Festival Bus Station Sunday 12:00 (midday) 19:30pm Monday 6:00am 15:30pm
Shuttle Bus Access from Festival Bus Station There will also be a free direct shuttle bus from Festival Bus Station to Worthy View. This service will be signposted Worthy View and is service GF5. Wednesday 8:00am 23:30pm Thursday 8:00am 23:30pm Friday 10:00am 22:30pm Saturday 10:00am 22:30pm Sunday 12:00 (midday) 21:30pm Monday 6:00am 15:30pm Vehicle Access Vehicle access to the Worthy View Car Park is approached: from the north via the A37 from Bristol, then the A39 to Wells and Glastonbury and then the A361 towards the site from the West via the A39 and A361 to Glastonbury and then the A361 towards the site from the South and East via the A37 Please follow instructions sent out with your car park ticket and road signs as a number of roads are closed at different times and we have a one way system in operation. The car park is in close proximity to the campsite, and is only accessible to cars with a Worthy View Car Park Pass. If you require a Worthy View Car Park Pass and have not yet ordered one, please contact Seetickets. Worthy View Car Parking Passes (where purchased) will be posted to you prior to the event. Worthy View Campsite Location Worthy View campsite is at the South of Glastonbury Festival site, situated above the stone circle field. It is approx. 250m up the (steep) hill from Pennard Hill Gate and we recommend it is not suitable for wheelchairs or children s pushchairs. Please come prepared for the fact the gradient of the footpath is STEEP. Worthy View Accommodation Canvas tents (scout tents, dome tents, yurts, bell tents, tipi tents and Cloudhouses) do not include beds or bedding, so you will need to bring these with you. Podpads, Bunkpads and Octopads include beds and air mattresses, so you will just need to bring your bedding. Sleeping bags and air beds can be purchased prior to arrival onsite. Please follow the link below: view accessories 2014.html
Please take all your bedding home with you at the end of the Festival. LEAVE NO TRACE We are now unable to offer any more group bookings for 2 person and 4 person scout tents. If you have tried to make a group booking for different types of accommodation unit (e.g. bell tent and scout tent or 2 person scout tent and 4 person scout tent) we will be unable to accommodate this group booking. Worthy View Facilities On site Bar, Restaurant, Toilets, Showers, 24 Hour Information Point, 24 Hour Security & Stewards, First Aid cabin Whilst staying at Worthy View: We want everyone who stays at Worthy View to have a great time. Please do so responsibly, taking care of yourself and others Please respect your neighbours, particularly late at night by keeping noise to a minimum on the campsite we operate a quiet policy between 1am and 7am. Please use the litter and recycling bins provided You must keep your Worthy View wristband on at ALL times Small barbeques are permitted a safe distance from tents Please use the urinals and toilets provided Follow the advice and instructions of the Worthy View staff Please note the following items are not permitted at Worthy View: Extra tents or gazebos Trading of any sort other than that permitted by the organisers. Sound systems Fireworks/Chinese lanterns/flares/generators/weapons/laser equipment Glass containers Illegal substances Animals (except guide dogs) Fires Smoking in enclosed public areas and your accommodation unit Showers We have increased the number of showers from 2013, however we cannot add anymore due to water restrictions onsite. They are open plan communal type showers and have a changing room prior to getting to the shower area They are separated into male and female showers You may want to bring a bikini or swimming shorts if you don t want to shower in the nude!
Showers will open 7:00am 14:00pm and then 18:00pm 23:00pm The queues are the largest between 8:00am and 10:00am so maybe have a shower later on in the day if you don t want to wait. Keep an eye on our Twitter Feed for regular updates Toilets For those of you who are returning to Worthy View for a 2 nd year, we have listened to your comments and have improved the toilet facilities at Worthy View. There are three main locations for toilets at Worthy View; the main toilet block by the farm, the Village Green and new for 2014, within the campsite. The toilets are the trailer type in the main toilet block and then plastic toilets in the other locations We have more cleaners who will be checking and cleaning the facilities all the time Please let our cleaners, staff, stewards or security know if you come across a toilet that needs a clean Sink Units At the main toilet block there will be two large sink units with lots of push taps so you can brush your teeth, wash your face and clean any pots & pans Please don t use the sinks in the toilet trailers to brush your teeth as they are hand wash only! There will also be drinking water points around the campsite so you can fill up your water bottles Information Point The Pink Check In is also the Worthy View 24 Hour Information Point. If you have any questions or comments please have a chat with our Worthy View Staff and they will do their best to give you the information you need (or try and find it out for you!). If you use Twitter you can also get Worthy View updates during the festival. Food A wide range of food will be offered at the Village Green. As well as hot cooked breakfasts, there will be a selection of fresh pastries each morning as well as cereals, yoghurts and smoothies. From midday until 5am you will be able to buy sandwiches, salads and jacket potatoes with a range of fillings. There will be a range of pastas and pizzas available too and of course vegetarian & vegan options. New for 2014 is Le Petit Boulangerie which will serve breakfast rolls, pastries, cereals, yoghurts and smoothies from within the campsite (next to Pink Check In). For those of you who need your coffee fix of a morning (or afternoon!) there will also be an espresso coffee machine. Every night there will be a daily special menu including BBQ, Curry Night, Fish n Chips Friday, Hog on the Green and Roast in a Yorkshire Pudding.
The Village Green Inn & Alcohol Open from 11am to 3am each day, The Village Green Inn is Worthy View's own pub. As you'd expect from your local it will offer a full range; lager, local ales and ciders, wines, spirits, soft drinks and even a few cocktails! If you intend to bring alcohol to Worthy View then you will only be allowed to bring a reasonable quantity for personal consumption into the site (no more than you can carry in your hands on your first arrival to the campsite). Spirits and glass bottles are not permitted. When consuming alcohol you should drink responsibly, make sure you stay within your limits and keep a look out for your friends. Anyone suspected of selling alcohol on the site or bringing excessive amounts in to the event will have it confiscated by the stewards. We will be operating a Challenge 21 policy at the entrance and The Village Green Inn, so please do not be offended if you are asked for proof of age when you buy alcohol or attempt to bring alcohol on to the site. Drugs Dealing or using illegal drugs is not permitted at Worthy View and drug enforcement laws are applicable on this site. Security and stewarding staff will be on site to deal with any drug offences in accordance with national laws and guidelines and supported by Avon & Somerset Police. You will be evicted from the campsite and prevented from entering the Festival. Experimenting with drugs can lead to adverse reactions. If you do take drugs and you become ill, depressed or frightened please ask a steward to direct you to one of the facilities on site which can help and support you. Enough advice and information! We hope you have a great Festival and enjoy your stay at Worthy View If you encounter any issues during your stay please speak to a member of staff, a steward or visit our information point where the staff will do their best to fix any problems. We would also love to hear what worked well on the campsite and where you feel any improvements could be made. We hope to see you again next year, The Worthy View Crew
