2 Blue Rill Day Camp s Optional Trip Program Code of Conduct Form Through the years we have received many compliments regarding the behavior of our fabulous campers and staff who have participated in the Optional Trip Program. We are proud of the reputation our camp community has throughout the East Coast! Blue Rill s trip philosophy is centered on three basic principles which are safety, responsibility, and respect. This simple Code of Conduct Form represents the excellent manner in which Blue Rillians conduct themselves. Please review this form with your camper(s) and sign/date it at the bottom. Safety Be aware and abide by all camp rules and procedures Stay with your counselor at all times Remember that when traveling with Blue Rill, Your only friends are from Blue Rill. Contact should only be with members of the Blue Rill group Agree not to leave the hotel room/lodging after curfew Understand that all campers must remain seated during the bus ride and follow the rules established by the bus driver Be aware of own health and report any illness or incidents immediately to the trip leaders and/or counselors Responsibility Respect Wear your Blue Rill t-shirt on trip days Be aware of the daily schedule and make sure to be on time Keep track of your personal belongings Campers may bring small electronic devices for use on the bus although Blue Rill assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage to these items. These items are for the bus only and campers will be instructed to put them away when they arrive at their destinations. Respect the opinions and individual differences of fellow campers. Be kind to each other and help out whenever appropriate There is absolutely no bullying of any kind. All campers should feel both physically and emotionally supported The is no swearing of any kind Recognize there are other families at the hotels, parks, restaurants, etc. and we should be considerate of them as well as the employees of places visited at all times We would like to leave all areas better than we found them. Please clean up after yourself and keep our areas well maintained and respect all property as damage fees can be imposed Cell Phones: The Trip Coordinators are in constant contact with camp and all staff carry cell phones on the trip. We strongly discourage campers bringing cell phones on any trip. If a cell phone is a must, please make sure it is well labeled with the camper s name. All cell phones will be collected and secured by the Trip Coordinator at camp prior to departure. Cell phone usage will be discussed in more detail during the Trip Orientation meetings in June. 3 Parent Signature Date Blue Rill Day Camp Optional Trip Program Summer 2012 Frequently Asked Questions Q) Who will supervise my camper on a trip? Supervision is paramount at all times. Our Blue Rill campers are escorted in small groups with staff member at all locations. The Trip Coordinator, a Division Leader, and Blue Rill medical personnel combine with our fantastic counselors to supervise our campers on every trip. Long time Blue Rill camper, counselor, and most recently, senior camp division leader, Andrew Coven has accepted the position of Trip Coordinator at Blue Rill Day Camp. As always, Andrew will be joined by a number of our fantastic Blue Rill staff members on each and every trip to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Blue Rill is pairing some new and exciting trips with some past favorites to provide campers with an experience that they will cherish for years to come. Q) What should my child wear on the trip? We require campers to wear their Blue Rill trip t-shirt on all trips. Q) What should I do if my child needs medication on trips? If your child must bring medication (prescription and/or over the counter), please review the following instructions: All medications must be given to the camp s medical personnel prior to the trip departure You must provide written doctor s orders for each medication. No medication can be given without a physician s order. The physician must sign all orders communicating proper dosage and frequency. All medications must be in the ORIGINAL CONTAINER and be clearly labeled by the pharmacy with the camper s name, dosage, frequency, and means for administration. Q) How can I get in touch with my camper while they are on a trip? Please contact the camp with any necessary messages. The camp office will then contact the Trip Coordinator to pass on any information to your child. We can always get in touch with your camper through our Blue Rill staff. Q) What should I do if my child has special dietary restrictions? Please contact the camp at least one week prior to the trip to discuss alternative food options. Q) How is rooming decided on overnight trips? Campers are asked to choose one friend they would like to share a room with and then the Trip Coordinator will make the room arrangements based on the requests. Counselors do not share rooms with campers although their rooms are on the same hall as the campers. Boys and girls are always on separate hallways. Q) Does my child need to bring anything on the trip? Blue Rill provides all tickets and equipment your child needs for a specific trip. Some campers enjoy purchasing extra snacks or souvenirs while on the trips. This is at your discretion.

4 Kings Dominion/D.C. Zoo/Dinner Cruise/Baltimore Aquarium Two Night Overnight Wednesday, July 11 Friday, July 13 (Week 3) Pack your bags and get ready for a fantastic Blue Rill excursion! Campers will travel to Kings Dominion in Northern Virginia to experience a fantastic amusement park. Campers will depart the next morning and spend a few hours at the Washington D.C. Zoo. After lunch, the bus will travel to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore where campers will enjoy a dinner cruise together before heading to their hotel. Friday morning, campers will return to the Inner Harbor to experience the Baltimore Aquarium. Campers will be transported on an air conditioned motor coach and all tickets and meals are included. Trip Cost: $400 New York Yankees Game Wednesday, July 18 (Week 4) Join us for a great day at the ballpark! Campers will leave Blue Rill after bus arrival in order to be ready for a 1:00 start. Campers will arrive back at camp around 5:30 for pick-up. Trip Cost: $50 White Water Rafting and Paintball Monday, July 16 Tuesday, July 17 (Week 4) Blue Rill has added to the popular rafting trip by making it an overnight and including opportunities to ride a ½ mile zip line, play paintball, and experience an evening camping with our fantastic Blue Rill staff and outdoor adventure specialists. Our campsite is designed for camp groups and offers all the best in rafting while also providing us with additional activities for our campers to experience. With the exception of sleeping bags, Blue Rill will provide all tents, food, and transportation via air conditioned coach buses. Campers will enjoy building a campfire, outdoor cooking, and discovering how fun it is to be with friends and family in the great outdoors. Trip Cost: $275 New York Mets Game Thursday, August 9 (Week 7) Join us for a great day at the ballpark! Campers will leave Blue Rill after bus arrival in order to be ready for a 12:05 start. Campers will arrive back at camp around 5:00 for pick-up. Trip Cost: $50

5 Great Wolf Lodge Overnight Thursday, July 5 Friday, July 6 (Week 2) Travel to Bushkill Falls, the Niagara of Pennsylvania, and then spend the day at the Great Wolf Lodge, a 91,000 square foot indoor entertainment area featuring its own gigantic water park. Wake up and spend the next day at Dorney Park which boasts over 100 rides and attractions. Campers travel via an air-conditioned motor coach on this classic Blue Rill excursion. Trip Cost: $300 Hershey Park Overnight Thursday, July 27 Friday, July 28 (Week 5) With over 50 rides and attractions along with an unbelievable water park, Blue Rill s overnight trip to Hershey Park has been a favorite for many years. This year, campers will maximize their time at the park while also carving out time to enjoy Chocolate World and the Boardwalk at Hershey. Campers travel via an airconditioned motor coach to and from this fabulous destination. Trip Cost: $300
