Purchase foam hearts or jeweled hearts from a dollar store or craft store. Hide and search for the hearts in Easter grass or shredded paper. Use sand as filler. A spoon may be used to make trails through the sand. Place plastic horses on the trails. Cut various lengths of a garden hose. Use water as the filler. Dip the hose in water, lift it, and watch the water run out of both ends. Tip the hose and the water will run out of one end. 24 SECTION 3
9 Letter I J K L M N O P Q R S Materials Place ice cubes in the sensory table and have children wear mittens to move or stack the ice. Use tongs to move packing peanuts or hidden items from one side of the table to the other. Hide queens from several decks of cards in a dry filler. Hide and search for quarters in dry filler. Put tinted rice as filler in the table. Tint the rice by putting it into gallon-size resealable plastic bags. Fill the bags half full of rice. Add one capful of rubbing alcohol mixed with liquid watercolor or food coloring use enough coloring to achieve the hue desired. Shake the bag, mixing the color thoroughly throughout the rice. Use a different color in each bag. Lay the rice on newspaper until dry, then put into sensory table. Hide and search for ribbons of various colors and lengths in a filler.
