1 Banff National Park of Canada Lake Louise Things you should know regarding Lake Louise Hard- Sided and Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campgrounds Updated September 12, 2017 Important Notices: Important Notices General Camping Information Fees If There is No Vacancy Require Additional Information? Terms and Definitions No soft-sided tents, tent trailers or units with soft -sided pop-outs are allowed in the hard-sided campground due to seasonal bear activity. While hard-sided units may choose to stay in the soft-sided campground, all soft-sided units MUST stay in Lake Louise Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent campground, without services. There is an alcohol ban on all long weekends General Camping Information: Operating Season (Nights): Hard-Sided Campground: (Open year-round) Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground: May 30 to September 27, 2018; Weather permitting. Reservable Period (Nights): Hard-Sided Campground: June 20 to September 23, 2018 Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground: June 20 to September 23, 2018 Reservable Percentage: Hard-Sided Campground: 100% reservable Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground: 100% reservable Kiosk Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. After Hours Registration: In kiosk window, locate name or confirmation # and proceed to designated campsite. Register in the morning at the kiosk by 9:00 a.m.
2 Check In Time: Any time after 2:00 p.m. Visitors who would like to arrive at the campground earlier may enjoy the rest of the park while waiting for their campsite to become vacant (a valid national park entry pass is required). Check Out Time: Before 11:00 a.m. Quiet Hours: 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Maximum Length of Stay: 14 nights Maximum Persons per Site: 6 people (exceptions may be possible for 2 adults with their dependent children to a maximum of 7 people) Maximum Vehicles per Site: Hard-Sided Campground: 2 vehicles: 1 **completely hard-sided camping unit** and 1 regular vehicle. We do not permit 2 wheeled camping units on the same site. Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground: 1 or 2 vehicles depending on number of tents. 2 vehicles and 1 tent or 2 tents and one vehicle. All vehicles must fit on driveway. Maximum Camping Units per Site: Hard-Sided Campground: 1 **completely hard-sided camping unit** - No tent trailers or tents. Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground: 2 tents or 1 RV/camper and 1 tent. 2 tents are only allowed with a maximum of one vehicle. All tents must be on the campsite. Generator Policy: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Amperage of Electrical Service: 15 and 30 Amp service in all serviced campsites. Fire Policy:
3 In this campground all guests require a valid fire permit to have a campfire. Firewood is sold on a fire permit system. A valid fire permit allows guests access to unlimited firewood. Hard-Sided Campground: Limited number of firepits available. Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground: Kitchen shelters with cook stoves. Campfires allowed in designated areas only. A fire permit can be purchased on arrival. Fire wood is available at the campground woodpile. Alcohol Policy: There is an alcohol ban on all long weekends: Victoria Day, May 19-22; Canada Day, June 30 July 3; Civic Holiday, August 4 - August 7; and Labour Day, September 1-4). Pet Policy: Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. They must not be left unattended. Please keep all pet food stored inside the vehicle. See Bare Campsite Program brochure on the web site or upon arrival for more information. Campground Locations: Lake Louise campgrounds are located 1 km from the Village of Lake Louise, 4 km from the lake itself, off Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1). **Lake Louise is 60 km northwest of the town of Banff. Directions: From the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy#1) exit at Lake Louise: Straight through 4-way stop, turn left at 2 nd 4-way stop. Follow road all the way to Lake Louise Campground entrance. Lake Louise Hard-Sided Campground GPS Coordinates: Latitude: Longitude: Lake Louise Soft-Sided Campground GPS Coordinates: Latitude: Longitude: Campground Descriptions: ***While completely hard-sided units may choose to stay in the soft-sided campground, all soft-sided units MUST stay in Lake Louise Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent campground, without services. Hard-Sided Campground (189 sites, all reservable): All sites with electricity. 20 sites available with fire pits. All drive-through sites, most sites are double (shared) sites - side by side. Washrooms with hot/cold running water, shower building & flush toilets. Access to nearby hiking paths. Accessible sites available upon request. Communal water taps and a dump station are available.
4 Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground (206 sites, all reservable): ***All soft-sided sites are within an enclosed electric fence due to seasonal bear activity. Unserviced with firepits or unserviced without firepits. Washrooms with hot/cold running water, shower building & flush toilets. Kitchen shelters with cook stoves. Access to nearby hiking paths. Accessible sites available upon request. Communal water taps and a dump station are available. Roofed Accommodation Description: No roofed accommodations Internet/Wi-Fi Access: None. Wi-Fi is available in Lake Louise Village at The Depot, Javalanche, and Hostel/ Alpine Centre. Fees: For information regarding camping fees for Banff National Park please see our Fees page. If There is No Vacancy for Your Dates: As 100% of the sites are reservable, none are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Callers may also try nearby Kootenay ( ) and/or Yoho ( ) National Parks. Require Additional Information?
