2 What is Rank Up? Rank Up is a program hosted by the Order of the Arrow, designed to help scouts Rank Up toward First Class by completing requirements and obtaining the skills needed. It is similar to working on merit badges at a Merit Badge University. Where? RANK UP 2019 will be held at Old Ben Scout Reservation. Directions: From Interstate 64, follow US-231 North for 14 miles. Turn left onto IN-56 West for 13.4 miles. Turn right onto North County Road 550 East. Continue 0.5 miles then turn right at Old Ben Scout Reservation sign. Continue 0.4 miles to camp parking lot. For mapping applications, search for Old Ben Scout Reservation with Google Maps. When? Saturday March 16, 2019 Cost? - $6 7:30am-5:00pm How to Register All registration is done online at the council website. You will sign up all youth and adults from your unit that will attend. If you would like to help out by volunteering, please be sure and check the volunteer option instead of participant when you register. General Information * Units will cycle through all stations, similar to a camporee, based on an assigned schedule. * Volunteers will be provided lunch. * There will be water coolers at every station. * The trading post will be open to sell snacks, candy, squishies, etc. * In the case of an injury, there is a small first-aid kit at every station, and more Extensive first- aid available at the camp master cabin. * If severe weather occurs, everyone will go to the dining hall. * If you have completed all the requirements offered at a station, you may play games at the dining hall area for the duration of that session.

3 Code of Conduct: All participants will act according to the Scout Oath and Law All activities and participants will conform to the Guide to Safe Scouting As with all Scout activities, the use or procession of tobacco, alcohol, E-cig/Vape/Juul, or any illegal substance or paraphernalia are strictly prohibited No fireworks, explosives, guns, or weapons of any kind are allowed Property damage, injury to another person, interference with wildlife, or interference with any staff member (bullying, harassing, arguing, etc.) will be investigated and reviewed by the members of the camp administration and the District Executive and may result in immediate expulsion of said person(s) and/or units. No electronic games, radios, Bluetooth devices, speakers or equipment. Cellphones are only to be used when approved for use in activities at stations, or during free time. In accordance with the Outdoor Code, no fires except at the Tool/Fire Station, All TRASH MUST BE PACKED OUT TO THE DUMPSTERS IN THE PARKING LOT. 6 HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT/TALENT RELEASE AGREEMENT By attending this event, you agree to the following: You understand that participation in the activity involves a certain degree of risk. You have carefully considered the risk involved and have given consent for yourself or your child to participate in the activity. You understand that participation in the activity is entirely voluntary and requires participants to abide by applicable rules and standards of conduct. In case of emergency involving your child, you understand every effort will be made to contact you. In the event you cannot be reached, you hereby give your permission to the medical provider selected by the adult in charge to secure proper treatment, including hospitalization, anesthesia, surgery, or injections of medication for your child. Medical providers are authorized to disclose to the leader in charge examination findings, test results, and treatment provided for the purposes of medical evaluation of the participant, follow-up and communication with the participant s parents or guardian, and/or determination of the participant s ability to continue in the program activities. You hereby assign and grant to the Buffalo Trace Council Boy Scouts of America the right and permission to use and publish the photographs/film/video tapes/electronic representations and or sound recordings made of you this date by the Buffalo Trace Council Boy Scouts of America, and I hereby release Buffalo Trace Council Boy Scouts of America from any liability from such use and publication. You hereby authorize the reproduction, sale, copyright, exhibit, broadcast, electronic storage and/or distribution of said photographs/film/videotapes/electronic representations and/or sound recordings without limitation at the discretion of the Buffalo Trace Council Boy Scouts of America and you specifically waive any right to any compensation you may have for the foregoing.
