ALL MEDICATION need to be in original container. Please check with nurse when you arrive to discuss any medication you are taking. 2 Associational Camp Facilities CAMP AT REDEMPTION RANCH is located in Moscow Mills, Missouri; I-61 to Hwy 47, East on Hwy 47, 8.5 miles to Entrance on the Right The address for Redemption Ranch is Deer Run Lane, Moscow Mills MO Website: Campers guilty of serious rule violations are subject to immediate dismissal. Parents will be notified to immediately pickup the camper. CHECKLIST - WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP Bible Water Bottle Notebook Pencil & Pen Personal Toiletries: Shampoo Toothpaste Toothbrush Comb Brush Sunscreen Insect Repellent Welcome to the wonderful and challenging world of church camp. You are in for the most physically tiring, spiritual refreshing week of the summer. You will have the opportunity to supervise a bunch of kids who will think that you are the most wonderful person in the world. During the week you will have the privilege of sharing your faith and knowledge of Christ. You may find yourself laughing, crying and growing. You will rest in the ever present assurance that GOD is everywhere, especially at camp. So pack your bags and bug repellent, take a deep breath and get ready for blessings that will keep you energized until next summer! Cabin Leaders and Cabin Learners Cabin Leaders Age: 18 No fee Leaders will: Be responsible for campers safety and supervision Be with campers at ALL times Be ready to share your testimony with campers Attend ALL classes and worship services with campers Follow ALL guidelines set by directors Respect the director and support any decision he/she makes 2 Linens: Sheets or Sleeping Bag Blankets Pillow Towels Washcloths Pool Towel Clothes For The Week: Shirts with sleeves Shorts of modest length Long Pants P J s Comfortable Shoes (avoid sandals) Sweatshirt or Lightweight Jacket Socks Undergarments Swimsuit Shirt to wear to and from pool Pool Shoes Optional: Extension Cord Alarm Clock Rope for Clothesline Flashlight The above items are ALL you will need to bring to camp. The less you bring to camp, the less you will have to keep track of! Label personal items that you feel need to be labeled. (Continued on back) 11

3 1. Automobiles may not be used for transportation on the campus by campers and / or cabin leaders. 2. Campers and staff may not have dates on or off campus. 3. If a camper must leave camp for a period of time (ball games, doctor appointments, etc.) the director must be notified IN WRITING the first day of camp. The director needs to know when and by whom the camper will be picked up and returned to camp. The camper will be required to sign in and out with the camp director. 4. Christian attitude is expected of all campers and staff. 5. Campers must obey curfew as provided by the daily schedule. Campers may not be out of their cabins during quiet hours, except for emergencies and when accompanied by a cabin leader. 6. Cabin Leaders, staff and campers may not: use tobacco in any form, bring radios, TV s, I pods, MP3, CD players (except for teaching purposes) video games or any other electronic devices; bring fireworks or firearms to camp, use illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages, use profanity or vulgar language, gamble, bring shaving cream for purposes other than shaving; engage in unseemly or unchristian conduct. 7. DRESS CODE: All articles of clothing should be appropriate for a church camp atmosphere. Clothing should be modest in style and fit and should not have words or symbols endorsing alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, nor any other inappropriate message. 8. Campers will participate in all scheduled activities or remain in designated areas with Cabin Leaders. 9. Telephone is available ONLY for emergency calls. 10 Cabin Learners and Staff Assistants Age 17 or 16 years old $5.00 fee Learners will Follow the direction of the Cabin Leader Help the Cabin Leader supervise the campers Be with campers at ALL times Be ready to share your testimony with campers Attend ALL classes and worship services Follow ALL guidelines set by directors Respect the directors and support any decision he/she makes Go - Fors Age: under age 16 $10.00 fee Limited to ten individuals Must be approved by director Staff form must be submitted two weeks prior to camp Go Fors will Share their testimony Attend all classes and worship services Follow all general guidelines Respect and support director (s) Duties include but not limited to: KP / Trash Keep water jugs full Supervise KP clean tables, sweep, dump trash Run dishwasher Help serve meals Ground Duties Sweep porch and walk Clean lower RR Dump Trash Snacks Serve snacks REC / Trailer Keep trailer clean and orderly Store away all rec equipment at end of the day ALL staff members are expected to be ACTIVE members of a Southern Baptist Church. Exceptions can made at the discretion of the camp director. Staff members will supply the director with testimony, references and will be subject to a background check. (both SSN and DOB are required to run the background check.) 3

4 Basic Law 1. Each staff member is required to attend Bible Study and Missionary Moments. EVERY STAFF MEMBER 2. Staff members ARE REQUIRED to attend worship services, and are to sit with their cabin group. 3. Staff members will supervise meals and all clean-ups. 4. NO ONE changes cabins without the Directors approval. 5. ONLY the Directors or the Nurse will call camper s parents. ONLY the Directors are allowed to release campers from camp. 6. NURSE S cabin is off limits except for medical purposes. 7. Each staff member is expected to follow the same dress and code of conduct as the campers. ATTIRE - all articles of clothing should be appropriate for a church camp atmosphere. Clothing should be modest in style and fit and should not have words or symbols endorsing alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, nor any other in appropriate messages. 1) Long pants and MODEST shorts may be worn (no short shorts!). Jeans are acceptable and practical. 2) Sleeved shirts are to be worn by all campers at all times (no spaghetti straps or midriffs, no halter tops etc.) If the sleeves are torn off the shirt or cut off, it no longer meets the code. 3) Swimsuits MUST BE COVERED to and from the pool. In addition, boys must wear shirts to and from the pool and in the common areas. 4) Tennis shoes and socks are recommended. Flip flops or sandals are for wearing ONLY to and from the pool. 5) Mark your name on all articles of clothing and linens (YES, EVERY THING) PROHIBITED ITEMS DURING CAMP - All items that could lead to the disruption of camp in any way will be confiscated during camp week. Please check your campers things to see that they do not bring these items: candy, gum, water guns, skateboard or roller blades, clock radios, I pods, and cellular phones, electronic games or any other type of electronic device. Possession of drugs, alcohol, any form of tobacco, firearms, weapons, or any fireworks will be cause to DISSMISS campers or staff members from camp. Please DO NOT BRING CANDY, GUM or SNACKS OF ANY KIND to camp. FOOD IS NOT AL LOWED IN THE CABINS. GENERAL CAMP RULES 4 9

5 the appropriate one to confide in. It is as important to take care of yourself as well as the victim of the abuse. 4. Above all, remember to think before you act or speak. A situation of this nature requires special handling, so that no future damage is done. Things to do before departure on Friday. Pack all personal belongings Sweep entire cabin thoroughly Flush all toilets and turn off lights DO NOT LOCK DOORS!! Return all supplies to Supply Cabin (cleaners, brooms, mops, etc.) Have campers police grounds once more before leaving cabin area When cleaning is complete notify Camp Director for final check After final check by Directors, move all gear to parking lots and do not return to the cabins. Remember 1. Always send campers in pairs 2. Encourage the campers to use the rest room BEFORE they go to class or worship 3. Encourage the campers to wash their hands OFTEN AND WELL!! 4. Meals and canteen - Take only what you will eat, try to eat everything you take. It s O.K. to say No thank you. Help avoid waist. 5. Thank the kitchen staff and kitchen help OFTEN!! 6. Report all bug bites, stings, injuries, etc. to nurse. We must keep a record of all such problems. 7. TOUCH NO BODILY FLUIDS!! The nurse will tell you how to handle each situation. Proper methods of clean up must be followed. 8. NO ONE changes cabins without the Directors O.K. 9. The Directors will tell you if and when a camper will leave camp and when he/she will return. 10. 6 THINGS YOU MAY NEED Water Bottle (with your name on it) Rope for clothesline Lawn chair for your own use Flashlight Extension Cord WHEN YOU ARRIVE Check cabin for any breakage or damage and report to Director any problems. Sweep floors Clean rest rooms if necessary, check lights, DO NOT LOCK DOORS!!!! See director for any cabin supplies you need. SAFEGAURDS AND PROCEDURES 1. Never be alone with a camper. If you need to speak to a camper in private, move away from the group but stay in full view. 2. Never initiate physical contact. If a camper hugs, of course you may respond. If a camper needs comfort, comfort them BUT KEEP IN MIND we live in a world where innocent acts may not be perceived as innocent. 3. If a camper reports to you that he/she has been the victim of abuse, physical or sexual: A. Stay calm. Assure the camper they have done the right thing by telling you. B. Determine when the abuse took place. If the offense took place at camp IMMEDIATETLY REPORT TO THE CAMP DIRECTOR. SPEAK TO NO ONE ELSE. C. If the abuse took place prior to camp, assure them that they have done the right thing by telling you. LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN. Tell them as gently as possible, that you must report the fact as shared with you. Assure the camper that they can trust you to do the right thing. Also reassure them that only those who must know will be told. None of the other campers or adults at camp will know. Then report to the director, who will put you in touch with the proper authority. D. Once you have filed a report with the Camp Director and the proper authorities you may feel the need to talk to someone yourself, for your own peace of mind.
