Day walks are an essential part of our training towards the expedition weekends. We will be meeting at 8.50am in the Marquis Drive, Hednesford WS12 4PW We will be meeting back at the same point at 13.00pm. Participants will need to bring with them a rucksack/bag containing: A bottle of water Packed lunch/snacks (Money for additional food or drink optional) Waterproof clothing (not an umbrella) Hat + Gloves Sun Clothing/Sun Cream (if warm weather) They should wear sensible footwear (trainers/walking boots) and clothing that they don t mind getting muddy. (No brand new converse!) If you need to borrow any of the above, please let Miss Fairbrother know ASAP. If you have already completed the reply slip below for all activities, then please only complete to update any changes. The consent form will be used for all DofE activities over the year, and therefore if any information changes you must inform us of these as soon as possible. Overleaf are the dates for DofE this year. These are set in line with the school calendar and are nonchangeable. The campsites may change due to circumstances that arise during the year. Please ensure that these are recorded on your calendars to avoid clashes with holidays etc. Any issues then let us know as soon as possible. Failure to attend will result in non-completion of DofE award. Please note extra dates may be added during the year for fundraising.

(~6km/2hrs) 13.00: Pick up at Allestree Park car park, Burley Hill (off A6 Duffield road) DE22 2EU

9 Personal Equipment List Rucksack 65 Litres in size must be comfy (try on) Rucksack cover and liner And have sturdy hip and shoulder straps Sleeping Bag Roll Mat Water bottle/flask Personal medication (labelled), including pain relief Torch-spare battery and bulb (unless LED then (a list of which should be given to staff member only need spare batteries) Tissues Sanitary Items Plate, Bowl, Mug, Cutlery Plastic Whistle Wash Kit 1 small towel (max hand towel size), Durable bin bags or Dry bag x 2 (1 for sleeping Toothbrush, etc (make sure they are mini versions) bag 1 for spare clothes Clothes: Walking boots must be waterproof and comfy 2 pairs thick walking socks (Need to wear in for at least 3 months) 1 pair walking trousers/tracksuit bottoms 1 or 2 T shirts 1 Jumper 1 Fleece Waterproofs (Jacket, possibly trousers) Underwear comfy pants! Comfy bra! Warm Hat Spare clothes (1 pr socks, trousers, tshirt, fleece jumper) Scarf In sunny weather cap + sunglasses Gloves Personal Equipment List Tent Camping stove Matches (in a plastic/waterproof Fuel Pots & Pans Map holder/case Watch at least 2 members of the team must have a watch HiVis Jacket Compass Pocket Knife Emergency phone.
