2 Safety Awards and How it Works: You can redeem points, twice per year (Spring and Fall) for various products within Direct Energy s Award Catalogue. The catalogue will be made available to Direct Energy s employees via our Direct Energy s website. A notification will be sent out via HSE Services informing all employees that either the Spring or Fall ordering periods are commencing. Employees will be given a 14 day time frame in order to pick the individual safety award item. Revenue Canada Guidelines Employees may receive two non-cash awards per year on a tax-free basis in recognition for exceeding safety standards, providing the total cost of the awards does not exceed $500 per year. Any gift/award in cash or near-cash (e.g. Gift certificates or any item easily converted to cash) regardless of value or reason for the employee receiving the gift or award is fully taxable and will be treated as a taxable benefit. To order simply go to and under the tab Safety you will find the electronic copy of the catalogue and the ordering form. In keeping with Direct Energy efforts to maintain our environment I would ask that you review the catalogue online or print off 1 copy for your crew to review and make their Awards choice. For Supervisors out in the field I would suggest that you compile the order forms and send all of them in at once. For Business Managers I wold ask that you forward this along to those who do not have a Direct Energy account. Some of the catalogue items include clothing to which a sizing chart is included at the end of the catalogue. There is an option that clothing can come with the Direct Energy logo.
