Box 500, Magnolia, AR 71753, hereby applies to the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission as follows: 1. The Applicant is the operator of the Esters #1 Well, which was the discovery well for the Smackover Limestone Reservoir within the Shiloh Field in Lafayette County, Arkansas. The field rules of the Shiloh field, as originally adopted in Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission Order No. 4-66, were amended and extended by Order No to cover the Smackover Limestone Formation. That order created the Esters Unit, composed of the East Three-Quarters of the Southeast Quarter of the South Southeast Quarter of Section 35, the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter and the West One-quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 36, all in Township 15 South, Range 23 West, Lafayette County, Arkansas. 2. The field rules established by Order No , governing the Smackover Limestone Formation within the Shiloh Field provide for automatic extensions, but define those extensions as approximately 80 acre rectangles, approximately 1,320 feet in width by approximately 2,640 feet in length. 3. The Applicant has now identified a prospect which is the East offset to the above described Esters #1 Unit. However, geological data indicates that any unit configuration which is approximately 1,320 feet in width by approximately 2,640 feet in length will

2 either omit potentially productive acreage or include known non-productive acreage, due to the location of a fault which defines the eastern limit of the common source of supply. The Applicant therefore requests that the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission further amend the field rules of the Shiloh Field to create an exceptional unit, approximately 80 acres in area, composed of the following lands: The East Three-quarters of the Southeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, the South One-quarter of the East Three-Quarters of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter, the South One-quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, the North Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, the North Half of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, the South One-quarter of the West Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter and the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter, all in Section 36, Township 15 South, Range 23 West, Lafayette County, Arkansas 4.
