So it begins! Leaping Lizards Move into Salter Point for the weekend. With the news of 100 days to go, it all happened at Salter Point at the beginning of the school holidays. Scouts and leaders from Busselton, Broome, Beldon and Salter Point descended upon Salter Point for a meet and greet, before Sydney AJ All thirteen of the Salter Point scouts are in their new patrols and meeting lots of great new friends. Plus, the troop adopted a new mascot: Lenny the Lizard. Lenny was very tied after the first day of so many hugs! On Friday night a few scouts ventured into camp while leaders had a meet, greet and run down of the weekend. With breakfast out of the way, on Saturday morning, all the scouts registered and the fun got underway. Troop leader, Sharky, got the troop games underway. This gave the troop a chance to get to know everyone and come to terms with all the different personalities. The troop then was broken into their patrols. At this stage no PLs or APLs had been selected. We were watching! Waiting! Gaining valuable information! Off they went as a patrol to put up their tents. Different tents, different patrols, new quartermaster who had his work cut out for him. With tents up and home sorted more games got underway, so the patrols could bond. Paracording, patrol flag races, market day chats, Frisbee throwing, clean your tent up and capture the flag. Saturday afternoon the scouts had a great feast and then washed up. Oh exciting! Then it was inside to hear from the scout leaders going and what job they would be drilling into them over in Jamboree land. Lots of questions and answers. Then it was time to watch the AJ2010 Jamboree movie. That got the kids talking on what fun was to come. With hot milo and biscuits out of the way it was time to sleep.

Sunday! Our Logistics support crew! I would like to say a HUGE! THANK YOU to Sharky s family for coming down to help out in the cooking department. His lovely wife Chris and two young men (cannot call them boys) came down on Saturday as the logistics cooking crew. Lunch was prepared on Saturday by them and after this a lovely dinner was prepared. So a huge thank you to the Beldon logistics support crew. It really made a huge difference to all down at A112. A big THANK YOU to Charlie, Merlin and Greg for their support and help over the weekend. Everyone chipping in to help just makes it less complex for the front line leaders. On Sunday morning it was up by 7:30 and all hands on deck to make breakfast. Then it was time for some more games while the wind tried to carry us away. But with luck up turning, the wind died down so we could get the canoes out. It was cold, but the Leaping Lizards braved the blistery water and walked in shivering. We also had a visit from the IT support network of Salter Point. AGL Merlin came down with the Drone. That kept some scouts and most of the leaders busy for some time. As it was turning cold most of the scouts had free time, so some got to chit chat while others decided to throw water bombs around at unsuspected leaders. Thanks Charlie for bringing down the balloons. The scouts had a great time. With the canoes and scouts cleaned up, it was time for them to get their kit and have dinner. More on the kit in chapter three. Sunday night was skit night and wide games OH MY! Some Salter Point Scouts will be doing a lot of cleaning before Jamboree. You know who you are! Only kidding! What a great night. From impersonating leaders, to beheading each other it was excellent. Then it was outside to play, Death by spotlight. Don t worry parents it just sounds better than, Boo I found you". Fun had by all. Then after this the Patrol leaders sleeted a movie.

Fun and Laughs! On Sunday evening the scouts looked extremely tied. Well, so did the leaders. After we had a council meeting the patrol leaders made a diplomatic choice of movies. All the scouts enjoyed the movie, but not as much as the leaders. While cleaning up, the leaders got carried away in the kitchen. We decided to make a drink in honor of the movie. We made : DWAYNO Recipe: Ice, milo, freddo frogs, marshmallows, sugar (lots) and more sugar. Did I write down sugar? Stir and drink. I must say, it was excellent and well received with biscuits.

AJ2016 Sub Camp A112 Leaping Lizards Shirts Kit Time! Thanks to Merlin and Greg, Salter Point Sea Scout Group Leaders. The boys went down in the early hours to pick up two pallets of boxes. The leaders. also dropped off kit that will be put into the container to be shipped over to the Jamboree site. All going received an amazing kit which was arranged by Troop Leader Viper of Salter Point. It is excellent 5:11 kit that will get any scout through years of scouting. Thanks Viper! The Leaping Lizards also got a sub camp shirt which was arranged by their troop leader, Sharky. A excellent choice of colour to spot the lizards on Jamboree.

More Pictures Well! All great camps end. Keep practicing your bubble skills guys. We wish you a safe and happy journey for the rest of See you all very soon for more fun and laughs.
