Most people I run across are not in favor of this ban. 11/17/ :03 PM 4 people having to buy plastic bags for uses in the home that used to be done with plastic bags. 11/16/ :44 AM 5 More people are mad and annoyed that someone's political agenda is taking away my right to use whatever kind of bag that I want. 11/13/2014 2:45 PM 7 / 11
Q8 If you previously used single-use plastic checkout bags for purposes such as picking up pet waste or lining trash cans, how have you adapted? An example would be getting a smaller trash can and using produce bags as liners instead. Your answers will help us share creative solutions with the public. Answered: 8 Skipped: 4 # Date 1 I use the trash can in the bathroom and just scrub it more 1/1/2015 2:56 PM 2 When i shop outside of the ban zone i hoard as many "single use" bags as i can. if i use the self check out at walmart i grab a whole wad of them. 1/1/ :39 AM 3 Since I live in Bucoda I find my self now shopping in lewis countyou more then I do in Thurston 12/14/2014 2:19 PM 4 I shop in Lewis county or places that still have bags. 11/17/ :03 PM 5 shop in Lewis County or Tenino so I can get plastic bags. Less revenue to the businesses in Thurston County. 11/16/ :44 AM 6 I shop outside of Thurston County to get plastic bags. 11/14/2014 9:09 PM 7 I am just scrubbing my bathroom waste basket frequently 11/14/2014 5:29 AM 8 Poorly. I shouldn't have to waste my money buying a new trash can. If I bought a new trash can I would have to throw away my old one and would in turn be wasting even more plastic... 11/13/2014 2:45 PM 8 / 11
Q9 Have you changed where you shop to avoid stores that have implemented the ordinance? Answered: 12 Skipped: 0 Yes No I am not sure Yes No I am not sure 50.00% % 6 Total 12 # Comments: Date 1 as far as i know all stores in west olympia have implemented the ordinance? Grocery outlet might still have "preban" outlaw bags... 2 my biggest worry is transporting meat and disposing of meat at home as well as diapers and other waste. Those bags from retailors have been very helpful in our home and it's a big adjustment to not have them. Also I feel bad for the stores that have a harder time knowing is someone actually bought an item and didn't steal it. Usually, if it was in a bag you knew they checked out. 1/1/ :39 AM 11/16/ :44 AM 3 I shop outside of Thurston County. 11/14/2014 9:09 PM 4 I wish I could.. unfortunately all of Thurston County has been screwed by this. 11/13/2014 2:45 PM 9 / 11
Q10 Now that the ordinances have been in place for over four months, as a customer, I think: Answered: 12 Skipped: 0 The ordinances should be ke... The ordinances should be... The ordinances should be ke... The ordinances should be kept in place. The ordinances should be removed. The ordinances should be kept and other jurisdictions in Thurston County should also adopt one % % 3 Total 12 # Comment: Date 1 I use a LOT more produce bags now because paper bags don't hold up to wet items very well. 1/1/ :39 AM 2 Encouraging reusable bags while still giving the option for plastic would be a much better way to help. 11/16/ :44 AM 10 / 11
Q11 Your feedback is very important. Please provide any comments related to implementation or outreach of the ordinances. Answered: 5 Skipped: 7 # Date 1 Great work! Now I need a composting bin and we need to ban plastic water bottles 1/1/2015 2:56 PM 2 I think the reusable bags going back and forth from individuals home and car and checkout area are a potential vecter of disease. 3 I have noticed a lot of my family and friends are willing to make longer drives to be able to get plastic bags then deal with reusable bags. Thurston county could potentially be losing money by this ordinance from people going to other counties. 1/1/ :39 AM 11/17/ :03 PM 4 plastic bags have their place. 11/16/ :44 AM 5 Get rid of this stupid law. No one likes it, and I am tired of feeling like I live in communist China where I can't choose anything for myself because the government is my new mother and knows whats best for me. Let me know when I can't use paper bags either because it might hurt a tree. 11/13/2014 2:45 PM 11 / 11
