9 May Ladies Tea & Gentlemen s Tour The day started with some mist from the sky, but that didn t stop the tea or the tour. The view was out of this world. We had the opportunity to take pictures of the ladies on the wonderful swing in the backyard. Jean Chirhart had the patio at her home all set for the outside tea. Unfortunately, we had to move inside. That wasn t such a hardship as the inside of the house is as lovely as the outside. Since there were only 11 of us, we could all sit at the same table. All the food (and, boy, was there a lot) was set out on the granite bar where we could all get whatever we desired. There were sandwiches of every kind you would think of and some that were new to all of us. The desserts were just as wonderful as the sandwiches. Jean had selected three different teas for us and told us where each came from and what it consisted of. All three were very different from each other. The first one we had with our sandwiches, and the second came with dessert. From there, we took a guided tour of the Chirhart home. What a grand place it is! The ladies then returned to the table to taste the last tea. By now the sun had come out, and Jean asked us to return outside for a drawing. She had put numbers on each chair and then drew four numbers. The lucky winners won a hot pad that Jean had made. After that we sat and visited while waiting for the gentlemen to return from their tour. We are sorry not all of the club ladies could attend this wonderful annual event. From what we hear from the guys, they had a nice tour (even with a little too much mist on their windshields) on the back roads to the Twin Oaks Bar and Grill just outside of Penngrove. There they had lunch and we don t have to guess what they talked about!!! Thank you so much to Jean and Mike for opening their home to us, and for making it such a wonderful day. The Tea Ladies Nanette, Clare, Jeannine, Jean(hostess), Robin, Fran, Jeanne, Gwen, Linda, Dianna, Joan 9
10 The ladies were treated to a special tea by gracious hosts in a very special setting. Mike s shop was so clean that the ladies thought they would pitch in and help! 10
