The following blog entries contain evidence that something unusual took place at the Canary Wharf on the morning of 7/7. They are presented as is. Some bloggers mention having heard the news about the shootings on radio or TV. Radio and television archives should normally contain these broadcasts. 1. She is locked in Canary Wharf Tower. The police have just shot a suicide bomber. She is safe but a bit freaked out. 2 page 2 6. Written by Danny, 28 November :31 AM (GMT) From a poster called "Gareth": "I was working in the main Canary Wharf building on the morning of J7. I was contracted to a mailroom and worked in the same office as the facilities people. These are the people that have the responsibility for the health and safety for the bank s employees and every office throughout London has a team of these people. In these offices is an electronic wall panel linked directly to the government, through which they can send information incase of an emergency. On the morning of 7/7, every facilities office received a message that their had been a power surge in the London underground. This was put out, but nothing was said about any explosions. Only Sky news and the other news broadcasters reported them. A lot of people tried to call relatives, but the phones had been jammed. After hearing about the explosions and then bus explosion our office caught wind of snipers having shot some people at ground level outside the building next to us. We heard that the HSBC staff were being told to stay away from their windows As time passed the facilities people asked me and a colleague to go and prepare food and water at an evacuation site the bank were paying for as well as set up a phone line and internet connection. That was at a church in Mile End, which was over a mile away. We took a small 5-man passenger lift down to the shopping precinct under the tower. We soon found out that a section of the shops had been marked off-limits by security. The main HSBC entrance is underground where the shops that had been blocked off were. As well as being blocked off by many security personnel, they had also cut the lights so no-one could see what was happening in the area they were guarding. I thought this was strange, because there were no reports of explosions at Canary Wharf on the news. By this time there were a lot of people at the train station, but could only get there by following certain routes because the CW security where blocking off areas to the public, so they were being led. Anyway, me and my colleague made our way to the street and soon noticed there wasn't any cars on the roads, only emergency vehicles. This was also odd. After we left the Isle of Dogs we noticed the police had set road-blocks denying anyone access, but never said why. At this point on our journey my colleague somehow received a phone call from a friend working in the city saying that someone had been shot and killed by a sniper at CW. " 7. No author known London 94.9 has a morning show 9 till 12 hosted by John Gaunt, its a phone in show where members of the public call in and talk about London issues. ( ) At ish [on July 7] many callers phoned, ed and texted to say the've just seen two men being shot and killed by Police at Canary Wharf. Who knows?

3 page 3 8. Written by graeme around October I can confirm that I heard suicide bombers had been shot by anti-terrorist police at Canary Wharf on 7 July It was announced on BBC 24 Hour News. I cannot remember the exact time, but it was one hour either side of noon. 9. Written by andy around October I also heard on BBC news that marksmen had shot 3 or 4 terrorists by Canary Wharf if I can remember it was about an hour after the bombings 11-ish and then the story vanished down the memory hole. 10. Written by John D around October I was working in New York that day. I was walking through the office reception when I noticed a crowd of people watching the big TV. I noticed that it was about a terrorist attack in London, but it went to a live report talking of terrorists running around Canary Wharf being chased by armed police. One of the terrorists was shot according to the reporter It scared me a lot. I definitely believe these guys were employed by our government, understood their situation when they missed the trains and then fled for safety our armed cops were there to stop them from speaking. Sad story 11. Written by Sharon B around October I remember the day with extreme clarity (one of my daughters was working in Central London and I lost contact with her around 9am that morning) and I sat by the TV and flicked channels all morning. My daughter eventually phoned from a landline. Whilst watching the BBC news I saw the report coming in of 3 suspects having been neutralized by police at Canary Wharf, they then confirmed 3 men had been shot. We were promised more updates on that breaking news story but none were forthcoming. It appears Winston Smith is still working for BBC! 12. I work at London University and I can confirm that I saw the same broadcast about suspected terrorists being taken out or neutralised near Credit Suisse and HSBC in that area. One of my friends worked at Credit Suisse, an IT DBA, at the time and was not allowed near windows or leave the building for several hours after. 13. 4 page 4 I can confirm that on that day my wife was working at HSBC building and was told to stay away from the windows and not to go out 15. Written by Steve around October I was working in the vicinity of Canary Wharf that day. A friend who was based in the Wharf spoke to my supervisor and told him that all of the bomb shields on the buildings had been shut and people were warned to stay away from the windows. He also said that a lorry with people in it had been sprayed with bullets by the waiting and ready police. My wife heard on the news about the shooting, but it was not mentioned again to this day. 16. Written by honeyb around October I definitely remember hearing on the news (BBC I think) that a suicide bomber had been shot dead by police in canary wharf. no other mention was made after that. at the time I did wonder how the police could have possibly known that this person was a suicide bomber considering he had not carried out a bombing and had therefore not suicided himself. 17. I had that station on everyday on my headphones while working. So I got all the news coverage of the event as it unfolded. Like most though I didn t put and two together at the time. 18. I then went into cafe to wait for the hubbub to die down. Over the radio we discovered that it was more than one bomb. Just over an hour and a half later, there was a report on Radio 5 that some of the bombers were shot by armed response units in the Docklands. When I got home that evening, the news reports said that all the bombers died in the explosions 19. They also had banners running across the bottom of the screen stating this. Me and a few friends watched and heard this. Later in the pub there was between 15 and 20 of us discussing this. What I find strange is that when you ask the companies for archive footage, they ignore you.
