Just a few word s from Rick & Joyce We have found a car club. Southern Arizona Mustang Club. The oldest mustang club in America. It started in 1965 sponsored by Ford Motor Co. dealership. They have 187 families and do some activity every week most months. They eat before the meetings, snacks after, before and after car shows, meet and eat the last Tues., and a mustang ladies lunch. We seem to match their theme FOOD. Most seem to have multiple cars. Old to new and everything in between. They were very friendly but we miss all of our old gang. Rick & Joyce We miss You Guys Too! Rick & Joyce Thank You Very Much!

From the Events Coordinator Cathy BLINK, yeah, that is right, blink and the year is almost over, can you believe it? At any rate, what a good year it has been. Lots of fun activities, great gatherings, growing our friendships, and making memories. I missed writing an article for the Newsletter last month as we had out of town family visiting from New York and Toronto, so I apologize for not getting a recap of our first overnight weekend activity. The weekend of October 20 th -22 nd was a HUGE SUCCESS, we had 8 cars participate. For those leaving from the Fremont/Milpitas/ Hollister/Livermore area, we met about noon, and began our caravan to Jamestown. One quick stop in Escalon to pick up the Davis, from Roseville and we were on our way again. We arrived in Jamestown, about 2:00 ish. We all checked into the Historic Jamestown Hotel, each one of us having a uniquely decorated room in circa 1800 s furnishings. We all got settled and about 4:30 gathered for a hospitality welcome party hosted by Tom and I on the upstairs outside veranda. The weather was perfect for our wine, cocktails and appetizers function.
From the Events Coordinator Cathy Our dinner reservations were for 7:00pm a sort walk down Main Street to the Willows Steak House, were we sat at a large table in a semi-private dinning room. After dinner, some took a walk, some retired to their rooms, some gathered at the bar in our Hotel all and all it was a GREAT day. Saturday morning, most stayed at our hotel and had a scrumptious breakfast; some took the short ride to Sonora for the morning. After breakfast most of us wondered in and out of the numerous Antique and Boutique stores lining Main Street, Jamestown. By noon, most had gathered back at the hotel, Treva, Jim and Eileen had arrived. Many choose to walk the mile to the Train Station and the Railtown 1897 State Historic Park, where we had a relaxing 45-minute train ride back in the gold country of the foothills, hosted by our MTM Club. After our train ride, we all enjoyed a very educational tour of the Roundhouse and learned a lot of history of the trains, the area and the movies that had been filmed in and around the train station and Jamestown. We adjourned back to our Hotel to gather again for a MTM Club hosted cocktail party on the outside veranda. About 6:00 pm we headed downstairs to the Hotel Dinning Room, where once again enjoyed a fantastic meal. After dinner several of us were seen gathering in the Hotel Bar, taking walks or some just retiring to our rooms. We decided Saturday night to all have breakfast together, so we made arrangements with the Hotel for our large group to seat together for Breakfast.
From the Events Coordinator Cathy After breakfast, we did our check outs and headed off to our home destinations. Some of us caravanned back to the bay area together, some stayed in town for a little more shopping. Bill & Diane decided to take old HWY 49 back to the Sacramento area. I must tell you, this event was a lot of fun for everyone. The Hotel was so accommodating to us, they were easy and wonderful to work with. And our weather could not have been better. It was a perfect weekend. I heard nothing but good remarks about the weekend. As your organizer for this event, it was my pleasure to put it together, with everyone s attendance; it made all the effort worthwhile. Can t wait to plan the next overnight/weekend activity. I would also like to mention, that Rick and Joyce attended our weekend event and sadly it was the last activity they will attend (hopefully for a while) as they returned back to Hollister on Sunday, the moving van showed up to move them to Tucson, AZ on Monday. They have been a GREAT asset to our club, wonderful friends, they are truly missed. Now on to a few more upcoming activities as the year is not over yet. As of the writing of this article, Thanksgiving is in 2 days. The Day after Thanksgiving is the Niles Festival of Lights Parade. We have 6 spots for the parade. This is always a fun event, personally one of my favorites. Every year the parade gets bigger and bigger, attendance grows as the people line 4-5 deep along Niles Boulevard to wave, wish all a Merry Christmas and of course to see Santa as he brings up the end of the parade.
From the Events Coordinator Cathy Our Holiday Party will be December 16 th, you should have all recently received an invitation via . Tom and I will be hosting the party again this year, we appreciate the trust the Club puts on us to host this activity and look forward to all the fun and gift exchanging. The Holiday party is a potluck, the MTM Club will provide the Honey Baked Ham and members are asked to bring an appetizer, a sides dish or a dessert. Please coordinate with me as you decide what you would like to bring. I greatly appreciate the quick responses to the party, thank you. Cathy Thank You Very Much! On a final note, I wanted to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful and Prosperous New Year. We all have choices on how we spend our time, and I greatly appreciate the friendships we have created and the time we choose to spend together. See you all soon. Cathy

Just Sharing From Bill & Diane The exciting story continues on Bill & Diane s 2016 Shelby GTE Here is a start to finish idea of why it took them 11 days to totally remove ALL vinyl silver stripes, sand body parts individually, tape, paint silver stripes, paint white where needed, seal with clear coat and dry appropriate time in between each step. GTE exteriors include Shelby GTE/ GTH hood and vents, upper and lower grills, 2016 GT 350 style front splitter, GTH rear spoiler and Shelby GTE striping and badging.
Just Sharing From Bill & Diane The exciting story continues on Bill & Diane s 2016 Shelby GTE Note once blue tape lines for stripes are laid down via electronic beam, the hood, front snout (front splitter is removed), trunk/deck lid, rear bumper (rear facia is removed), spoiler are ALL painted separately. WOW!
Just Sharing From Bill & Diane The exciting story continues on Bill & Diane s 2016 Shelby GTE Note: 1st pic depicts the amount of taping and prep work needed to paint the crossmember of the A pillar that runs side to side and directly above the windshield.
Just Sharing From Bill & Diane The exciting story continues on Bill & Diane s 2016 Shelby GTE Time to put the model car back together.
Just Sharing From Bill & Diane The exciting story continues on Bill & Diane s 2016 Shelby GTE Really looks good! Just a super exciting story! Bill & Diane Thank You Very Much for sharing this with us!
December 2017 Recipe: Sweet Potato Casserole From: Cathy Duprey From The MTM Kitchen Ingredients 6 pounds sweet potatoes 1 cup self-rising flour 1 cup packed light brown sugar 1 cup butter, divided 1 7 oz. jar marshmallow fluff/crème 2 teaspoon vanilla 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup fresh cranberries DIRECTIONS In an 8 - to 10-quart pot of boiling water, cook the sweet potatoes until tender when pierced with a fork, 25 to 30 minutes. Drain and cool until easy to handle. Meanwhile, combine the flour, brown sugar and 1/2 cup of the butter, cubed, in a large bowl. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to cut butter into flour until it clings together. Spread in a shallow baking pan and freeze until ready to use. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Peel skin from potatoes, return to pot, and mash with a potato masher. Fold in the remaining 1/2 cup of the butter, melted, marshmallow fluff, vanilla and salt. Spread mixture evenly in a 3-quart rectangular baking dish. Cathy Thank You Very Much for sharing! Top with frozen crumb topping evenly over sweet potato mixture. Sprinkle with cranberries. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until topping I s lightly golden. Makes: 13 cups, about 26 servings.
December 2017 Recipe: Holiday Cranberry Squares From: Cathy Duprey, one of my families favorites for the holiday s Gelatin: 1 Lg Box raspberry Jell-O (I use the sugar free) 2 cups boiling water 1 (12 oz.) package frozen cranberries, thawed 1/3 cup orange juice 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in juice (not syrup) From The MTM Kitchen Topping: 8 oz Cream cheese, softened to room temperature 2 cups heavy whipping cream 1 ½ cups miniature marshmallows Dissolve gelatin in boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes to completely dissolve. Set aside. Combine half the cranberries and 1/3 cup orange juice in food processor, blend until smooth. Repeat, with balance of cranberries and juice. Mix cranberry mixture into Jell-O, stir until completely blended, about 2 minutes. Pour into 9x13 inch dish. Cover and refrigerate until set, about 6 hours or overnight. Cathy Thank You Very Much for sharing! For topping; Beat cream cheese in mixing bowl at medium speed until creamy. Reduce speed to low add whipping cream, when blended, increase speed to high and beat until stiff peaks form 1-2 minutes. Gently fold in marshmallows. Spread over gelatin mixture, cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving and cutting into squares.
Just One More Thing!! A hole has been found in the nudist camp wall. The police are looking into it. No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery. I thought I saw an eye doctor on an Alaskan island, but it turned out to be an optical Aleutian. From the Editor
