4 Howdy Fellow T-birders, It is mid-morning on Easter Sunday. Not long ago we finished a delicious Easter breakfast. One of the girls and her boyfriend stopped by to enjoy breakfast with us as they head west for the rest of their Easter Sunday. Another of the girls is having her boyfriend over for Easter dinner. It will make for a very quiet day. Yesterday after getting some errands and yard work done I finally got around to replacing the door lock cylinders and repairing the lock actuators on my f250. It was the first time doing anything like this and I was pretty proud of myself when it was all done, and now the lock buttons work. As far as the t-bird goes, Mona and I did drive it -top down- to our club meeting last week. It was quite brisk but we only had a few miles to go, so we endured (the drive home was much more pleasant). The good news is the transmission stop leak that I put in seems to working as the fluid spot under my car is much smaller. I still need to get that oil changed. Those of us that are driving our cars to QC had a brief meeting after the club meeting last Sunday to formulate our caravanning plans for next month. I will put these notes together and distribute them to those that are interested in caravanning with us on Thursday the 18 th of May. I will tell ya that one part of the plan is to stop at Cattleman s in Livermore for lunch, sounds like a good start to what should be a fantastic weekend. Our weather continues to be fickle, with us getting a short blast of nice days intermixed with rain, clouds and wind. Just think, before long we will be saying it s to dang hot out and I am OK with that. When the weather gets good for good I will let the birdy fly. So long for now. Jim Ridenour 4

VICE PRESIDENT S Thoughts.and reflections I'm taking a break from getting ready for our San Juan Bautista outing to write this. Part of getting ready is, of course, getting the 'Bird ready. There's always the usual stuff like fluid levels, tire pressure and so on, like wiping it down with a final finish-type product. However, there are other things that might not be obvious. For our car, one thing that needs regular checking is the header bolts: Sure enough the bolts to attach them to the heads all needed about a quarter to a half turn, but the collector bolts on the passenger side were little more than finger-tight, which could have led to a loud ride home! Other things to think about include special tools you might need--for me it's a 10-mm wrench for the alternator-adjustment bracket. You might consider carrying extra fluids your 'Bird is known to consume; I don't worry about most as you can get them everywhere, although water might be handy for some. Now that everybody is ready, the trip should be fun. I've heard that ten cars have signed up which will be quite a caravan if the weather holds, which according to NOAA should be okay. Even if the weather turns and everybody drives Brand-X vehicles, as happened a couple of years ago going to Ft. Bragg, it's still a good time traveling and visiting with fellow members. Once again, many thanks to Joe and Sandy for organizing this trip. We'll be looking forward to seeing everybody at Mimi's on May 7th for sharing stories and doing final planning for the QC coming up on the 18 th. Don Wigle 5

7 The weather was crisp, but we lucked out and there was no rain. Our group of T-Bird Travelers gathered on the morning of April 25th for a trip to the sea. We met at the Hot Rod Diner in Hilmar and hit the road for Hollister. Our destination was Rick Fisher s garage and car collection. Rick, and wife Karen, are long time friends of Joe and Sandy Hood. The pictures say it all...what a great personal collection of cars. Lunch was at Phil s Fish House in Moss Landing. The group returned to San Juan Bautista for a evening get together. The next morning some of our group headed home while others spent the morning touring the mission. Another great trip with fun people! April 25 to 26 Tour Central Valley to the Sea - and Back 7

There were 33 members and 1 guest present. Welcome to Jim Dean guest of Joe Colvard and Ken Huckaby. Good to see members back who have been absent for various health reasons. Give Away CTCI: Jim Montavon In Jim s absence Katrina Tellez reported that an article has been submitted to CTCI. Secretary: Katrina Tellez As no errors or corrections were reported a motion was made by Roger Williams, seconded by Joe Colvard to approve the March minutes as printed in the February newsletter; passed. Katrina distributed corrections for the roster and asked that members dispose of old information cards by shredding. Sunshine: Shirley Mattos Absent. Birthdays and Anniversaries for the month of April were announced by Jim Ridenour. Katrina shared that Ken Van Dyke has not been well and is resting. ACCC: Keith Rogers Nothing to report. June 9-11 Graffiti weekend, application is available on the website. Members that are attending considering a bbq/potluck. Guest Jim Dean announced that there will be a car show on October 7th in downtown Oakdale, cars, $25.00 entry fee, Show is to benefit Kids with open door. Some supporters will be House of Beef, Suzy Belens, 4H Shaved Ice/Sodas. Earl Reedy commented that Del Web s event is also October 7th. Old Business: None New Business: In the past July has been a dark month; with possible conflicting activities in June, the month of July has been opened up on the calendar. Members wishing to attend a meeting in July may now do so if they wish; according to the club by-laws 10 meeting per year are required. Meeting concluded and closed at 12:44 pm.
