I can only imagine that your summers have flown by just as fast as my own has. The past few months have brought some unbelievable learning opportunities to our Marathon 4-H Program. We should be offering our congratulations to the youth who have wonderfully represented our county on trips to the Wisconsin State 4-H Youth Conference, Space Camp, Leadership Washington Focus, and Citizenship Washington Focus. Marathon County has also been very well represented by our judging teams. Please be sure to recognize these youth and adults that put in hours of extra time practicing and traveling to events in and out of the county. Many thanks also to the 15 Marathon County 4-H teens who volunteered their time to plan and carry out 4-H Junior Camp in June and Camp Upham Woods in July. Both programs were fantastic! Finally, the Our Place, Our Community Program participants should receive recognition for their hard work. This group presented to locally elected board members at the Marathon County Board Meeting in June. Please come see their stories of rural life through pictures on Friday, August 5th from 5-7 p.m. at the Wisconsin Valley Fair in the Youth Building. I m looking forward to seeing many of you at the rapidly approaching Wisconsin Valley Fair! This newsletter should hold provide a bit more information, however be sure to attend your August 4-H Club meetings or gatherings, as your general leaders have materials that need your attention. The fair is a wonderful place to show off the skills and projects that you have devoted a year of education to. Remember: this is only one week out of the year. Have a safe and happy July and August!
