4 Page 4 SUPERIOR NEWS Fire Hydrants in Superior The Town of Superior is fortunate to have over 40 fire hydrants located across town. The hydrants are a key source of water for the Fire Department in the event of a local fire and also serve as a system to flush the water lines from time to time. On July 17 th the Fire Department sent out three of our Volunteer Crews to check up on our 40 hydrants. They were turned on (requires 17 full turns of the stem) to check for operation and leaks in the fittings. We were quite pleased when all forty delivered water. There were a few leaky caps which will get new gaskets but the system is quite robust. Since it will be the Fire Department that needs to locate and operate the hydrants under trying circumstances we took the time to weed and trim back bushes for access. If you have any reason to suspect a hydrant may be non-operational just call the Fire Chief at and the Department will look into it. Steve Temple, Superior Fire Chief EXTRAS The schedule for the Council meeting Agenda and council packets is: All items to be on the Agenda and information for the council packets must be to the Town Clerk by the Thursday before the meeting at 2:00 p.m. This allows the information to be put in the packet and the Agenda posted. Someone may speak at a meeting about a non-agenda item during public comment. The Council can not take action on matters brought up under the public comment period until the item is scheduled on the Agenda for the next meeting. Agendas will be posted at the Town Hall, Post Office and Castles. The Agenda will also be posted on the Website. The annual budget for FY has been approved and submitted to the state.
