2 ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TREE DECORATING AND LIGHTING EVENT! Lake Clarke Shores residents came out to Memorial Park to get into the holiday spirit listening to Christmas music from the Forest Hill High School Choral Group Dimension 20 while the children created their own ornaments and visited with Santa Claus. A big thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make this event a success!

The Lake Clarke Shores Police Department is offering a few holiday safety tips to ensure everyone has a safe and happy holiday. DRIVING Keep all car doors locked and windows closed while in or out of your car. Set your alarm or use an anti-theft device. Do not leave packages or valuables on the seat of your car. Do not approach your car alone if there are suspicious people in the area. Be sure to locate your keys prior to going to your car. Park as close as you can to your destination. Park in well-lit areas. SHOPPING Try to shop during daylight hours when possible. If you must shop at night, go with a friend or family member. Avoid wearing expensive jewelry. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash. Stay alert to your surroundings. Avoid overloading yourself with packages. Walk with a sense of purpose show you are calm, confident and know where you are going. Don t store packages in your vehicle while you continue to shop, thieves watch for this kind of activity. AT HOME Be extra cautious about locking doors and windows when you leave, even if it is just for a few minutes. Large displays of holiday gifts should not be visible through the windows/doors of your home. If you leave for an extended period of time, have a friend or family member watch your house and pick up newspapers and mail. Consider having packages delivered to a trusted neighbor if you are not home to receive them. Packages left on door steps can be easily stolen. Leave a radio or television on so the house looks and sounds occupied.

Approved Resolution #12-29 Authorizing budget transfer in an amount equal to $220,000 to be used to purchase and construct a 30 x 60 (1800 square foot) metal warehouse building. Approved Resolution #12-30 Authorizing budget transfer in an amount not to exceed $7,511 for purchase of a new Toshiba copier, scanner and fax machine for Town Hall. Approved the proposed freestanding sign for Flagler Bank. Approved Land Use Permit Martha Barker, 8260 Pine Tree Lane replace boathouse. Approved changes to capitalization threshold amounts. Approved appointment of the Honorable David Kerner, House of Representatives, District 87, as Grand Marshal of the December 1, 2012 Holidays in Paradise Parade. Approved a $200 donation to Forest Hill High School Choral Group, Dimension 20, for their performance during the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Memorial Park on December 1, Approved the 2003 Ford Sport Trac Vin #1FMZU67E13UB67170 as surplus and to allow this vehicle to be auctioned during the Village of Palm Springs auction to be held in January Approved Second and Final Reading of Ordinance # An Ordinance of the Town Council of the Town of Lake Clarke Shores, Florida, Amending Sections of Chapter 82 Vegetation Article II Landscaping Division 3 Standards and Requirements Code of Ordinances regarding landscaping around freestanding signs; sight distances adjacent to rights-of-way and points of access; and prohibited trees; providing for inclusion in the Code of Ordinances; providing for severability; providing for an effective date and for other purposes.
