Project location was identified, as well as any potential impact. I spoke with Alfred about the project notification. He indicated he wanted to meet on site to look over the project site. Alfred also told me the consultation was as a trapper on this site not as Sturgeon Lake Cree. A meeting was set for the afternoon of January 30th, 2012 on site. While I am on site meeting with Alfred on the 30th I will also ask him to speak on behalf of the FN community Sturgeon Lake and ensure there is no further consultation requirements or issues. Waiting for response from Alfred Goodswimmer.
2 Site Visit and Meeting 30/01/2012 Alfred and Wilfred Goodswimmer Fraser Paterson Fraser Paterson met Alfred and Wilfred Goodswimmer at the site of the current Smoky Meter station where the planned Bear Creek Meter Station is proposed to be built. A review of the current job scope and drawings was conducted and Alfred and Wilfred both gave accounts of their trapping activities in the area. Alfred asked questions about certain stands of trees next to the site to see if they would be cleared. The answer was given that the stand of trees is not in the project area. Based on the site meeting, trapper compensation was agreed upon. An request was sent to Alfred requesting information detailing the impact to their trapping so cheques for the noted compensation can be arranged. Site Visit and Meeting 30/01/2012 Alfred Goodswimmer Fraser Paterson Alfred Goodswimmer also represented the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation for the site visit. Alfred told Fraser Paterson that the community will conduct a map review and the site visit he was attending would be noted as part of the community's consultation with Alliance for this project.
3 Receipt of Fax 31/01/2012 Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation Fraser Paterson Two letters were faxed to Alliance from Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation: 1) Notification of receipt of the project notification to the community; and 2) Site assessment letter which indicated an assessment had been performed and trapper mitigation was still necessary. Invoices for the map review as well as the site visit conducted by Alfred Goodswimmer were included with the letters. Alliance will process and mail the cheques to the community.

I ed her to ensure I had the right number and am awaiting a response. I will continue to try and connect with Audrey. Phone Conversation 27/01/2012 Barry Brisson Rep with HLFN Fraser Paterson Barry Brisson called me and said Alliance must have a project because Audrey Horseman told Barry I was trying to get a hold of her. I mentioned to Barry we have a new meter station called Bear Creek we are consulting about and it is modest in scope however I wanted to ensure he did receive all the information we had sent out relating to the project. He told me he had the information but hadn't reviewed it and asked where it was going to be built. I told him the approximate location and mentioned it was also on Alfred Goodswimmer's trap line. Barry told me in that case Horse Lake would probably have no issues with the project since it is on Alfred's trap line, but he would review the information. I told him we would be able to meet and provide any further information or answer questions if he needed. He thanked me and the call ended. I will follow up with Barry to ensure there are no more questions or concerns relating to the project.
