3 For a trip that s quite a distance from El Paso, we ended up with a great turnout: the Becks, Beaulieus, Brotts, Lopez s (both families), Westbrook's, and the Jones s. We sure wish more members could have gone along. We all got there in time Friday evening for our traditional soup and sandwiches. As usual, there was more than enough food to go around. Saturday, after an awesome breakfast, we headed over to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire. What an inspiring tribute to all service members. Bricks lined the Veterans Memorial Walkway with names of all United States veterans. Just as we arrived, a group of Marines arrived on motorcycles. There must have been bikes from different states. They shared memories with each other in the amphitheater. Yes! There was still snow on the mountains. Temperatures ranged from 36 F to 59 F 3

4 The Lopez families took a day trip on the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway. One of the sites along the route was the Rio Grande Gorge. The views were absolutely breathtaking! You can t start the day without breakfast a grand breakfast, and our chefs pulled it off; not just Saturday, but Sunday as well. Compliments go out to Willie and Edgar. Of course, it s not breakfast without all the sides. Thanks to everyone who brought food and made it work. 4

5 Tim, Willie, and Dan went on a fishing expedition Sunday morning. Rumor has it that Tim caught 8-10 small perch which he threw back in. They ended up bringing 5-6 back which Dan took home to El Paso. We couldn t let the weekend go by without congratulating Willie and Barbara on their 50 th Anniversary. The RV park host provided a baked cake, and Ginny personalized it with a message. On their return trip to El Paso, Tim and Ginny decided to stop and take pictures of rafters on the Rio Grande. 5
