22 SMALL COURTS IN BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL TQ wants to help these communities create and maintain tennis participation on these courts and engage the wider community To do this we need a small court strategy If these facilities have a high use and ownership there will naturally be more community engagement and less of a responsibility on council to provide and maintain each facility due to the income each facility can produce
23 IDENTIFYING GAPS AND THE NEEDS IN BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL
24 INFRASTRUCTURE TENNIS FACILITIES IN BRISBANE CITY Tennis is developing a State Master Plan for Facilities identifying areas of need and will seek the support of the Brisbane City Council to address many key opportunities in the local area. These areas have will be suggested due to population growth and future population growth to adhere to the needs of Tennis being 1 court per 2000 people in population. DSR State Development Program
25 INFRASTRUCTURE TENNIS FACILITIES IN BRISBANE CITY COUNCIL Over the last 10 years, tennis has changed significantly, with many clubs experiencing varying levels of usage and competition. However, tennis facility provision is highly dependent on a number of factors including sound planning frameworks, efficient management, sporting trends, population growth and changes to how people consume and participate in our sport. A major success story for Council and Tennis in the Brisbane City Council area in the last 10 years has been the redevelopment and revitalisation of the Frew Park Tennis Facility DSR State Development Program
