7 Infrastructure - International Airport Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) is a public limited company formed to build, own and operate the largest greenfield private sector airport in India the Bangalore International Airport. Private Promoters hold a 74% stake in BIAL while the Government holds 26% Bangalore currently has the 4th largest airport in India and is amongst the fastest growing. The site of the upcoming International Airport covers an area of approximately 4000 acres. Total project cost of BIAL stands currently at INR 1,930 Cr. It is situated at Highway NH7, 30 km to the north of the city.

8 Infrastructure - International Airport No new or existing airport including current HAL Airport in Bangalore (except for Mysore and Hassan airports) will be permitted to be functional as international or domestic airport within 150kms of the new BIAL Airport for a period of 25 years after the Airport opening date. Fully functional Capacity: 11 Million passengers in the first year with the ability to handle 27 aircrafts per hour. It will be equipped to handle large capacity airplanes and cargo, effectively managing a future passenger traffic capacity of 40 million. Support Services: The Airport city coming up in the surroundings will have commercial, retail, hotel and leisure spaces.

9 Infrastructure - Metro rail The INR 6,207 crore Metro Rail Project has been accorded approval and the work has been initiated on ground The Rail Project which will be completed in about 3 years is aimed at decongesting the fast increasing traffic density in Bangalore. The Rail is to bring respite to the traffic in the central part of Bangalore which contains the CBD and non-cbd areas There will be adequate parking made available for private vehicles and feeder systems will be established by way of buses and coaches

15 The ITIR(Information Technology Investment Region) project, the largest infrastructure project in Karnataka The Bangalore-BIAL ITIR is a 50 km2 (12,000 acres) IT Investment Region that is under development 15 km North of Bengaluru International Airport. The region is situated at the Nandi foothills between Chikballapur and Doddaballapur in the Muddenahalli/ Kanivenarayanapura area which is 10 minutes drive from the project site. The ITIR is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Karnataka s history. Total cost is expected to be one lakh crore rupees ($22 Billion). The initiative will provide direct employment to 1.2 million people and indirect employment to 2.8 million. The Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (KEONICS) has recently issued Expression of Interest (EOI) for developing the region. Over 55 multinational IT companies including Infosys, Wipro, TCS, and Cognizant have signaled an interest in joining and have signed MOUs
