The Doubletree Hotel in North Charleston, South Carolina, will be the site of the 2015 Department Convention June 4-7, The Convention schedule is enclosure (1). A detailed agenda will appear in the Convention Journal. The Doubletree Hotel is located at 7401 Northwoods Boulevard, North Charleston, SC, The room rate at the Doubletree is $119 per night plus tax (currently 13.5%). This rate will be honored three days before and after the Convention dates. Reservations may be made by calling If you prefer, you may use the group-specific link of: /index.jhtml?WT.mc_id=POG Reservation cut-off date is 1 May, 2015 after which the special rate or availability will not be guaranteed. Check in time is 1500, check out time is All Convention activities take place at the Doubletree (lodging, meetings, banquet and hospitality room. The hotel offers a full array of services to include restaurant, indoor swimming pool, exercise facility, etc. Activity, entertainment, dining and sightseeing information is readily available in the hotel lobby. Bags may be stored prior to check in and after check out. The Hotel does provide a free shuttle service to Tanger Outlet, where a shuttle can be taken to downtown Charleston for a cost of $3.00 one way. 2. A Pre-Registration form is provided in enclosure (2). You have the opportunity to choose a Friday night event of either a River Dogs baseball game with a cookout of hamburgers and hotdogs or a dinner cruise on the Spirit of Carolina in Charleston harbor. 3. Information concerning purchasing Convention Journal ads is contained in enclosure (3). Each Detachment is requested to donate $100 to the Low County Detachment to help defray the cost of the convention. 4. Delegate forms will be distributed at a later date as Delegates will not be determined until after the National Detachment Listing dated March of 2015 is distributed. 4. It provides a venue for the Department to inform attendees of specific schedule of events, the agenda for the scheduled business meetings, travel instructions, where necessary, and information on various speakers. The Journal also provides funds to the host detachment to cover expenses not covered by registration and banquet income. It is requested that each detachment make a $100 contribution to the host detachment. A second $100 will provide the Detachment with an ad in the Journal. Ads purchased by individuals and businesses will gladly be accepted for inclusion in the Convention Journal. Such Ads are tax deductible. The bottom of this form can be used as a receipt. Request all ads be submitted in a print-ready condition. If this is not possible, arrangements can be made to accommodate ad purchasers.
