2 Conference language The official conference language is English. No simultaneous translation provided. Social programme A social programme will be provided and will be an integral part of this conference, both during and after the event itself. The conference location will ensure an attractive partner programme (during the event) and post conference programme to provide participants a final opportunity to network or simply to relax and enjoy one another's company. Conference dinner Advance registration required. Should you like to attend the dinner you are request to inform CEPS until the 2 nd of April. More information and a map will be distributed at the conference. The conference dinner will provide a pleasant and relaxing environment for participants, to mix and network at the end of a productive day. Registration desk The conference registration desk will be located in the entrance of CEPS and will be opened on 9 April 2018 at 11:30. The staff at the registration desk will be pleased to assist you with all your enquiries. Name badge Everybody receives a name badge. Everyone will be kindly requested to wear this badge during all conference activities, as it is your identification and allows you access to the conference venue, conference lunches, coffee breaks, and the conference dinner. Mobile phones As a courtesy to speakers and other delegates, participants will be requested that all mobile phones to be turned off before entering the conference sessions. 2

3 Accommodation in Brussels Brussels has a very large offer for accommodation with different prices and typologies. For practical reasons and proximity to the workshop venue, we recommend the following hotels: Hotel Motel One Hotel Best Western Royal Centre ibis Brussels Grand Place Hotel Changes and cancellations We kindly ask that you inform CEPS if circumstance change and you are unable to attend. Travel to Brussels Arriving at Brussels national airport (Zaventem) From the airport to the workshop venue Brussels airport is 15 km from Brussels centre, where CEPS is located. By bus You can reach the city centre with the airport line. You can take buses number 12 or 21. If you leave at Schuman you can then take the metro to Parc (only 5 minutes walk to CEPS). Your bus ticket is valid for the metro too. By train The airport train station is located below the terminal (basement level-1). Up to 4 trains an hour connect the airport to Brussels North, Brussels Central and Brussels Midi stations. From station to workshop venue The closest railway station to CEPS is Brussels-Central (Gare Centrale/Centraal Station) (10 minutes walk to CEPS) By taxi Taxis are permanently available in front of the arrivals hall. The fare from the airport to the city centre of Brussels is approximately 45. 3

4 Other relevant information More information about Brussels Brussels is the capital of Belgium and home to the main European Union institutions (the Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council), but also to NATO, over 100 think-tanks, and numerous international institutions of all sorts. It is a lively multicultural city with a wide artistica cultural and night life offer. It is a unique location that combines the modern and the ancient, representing the capital of Europe to the extent that any city can. The Beautiful Grand Place, the futuristic Atomium and the art of the Magritte museum are some of its greatest attractions. More information about Belgium Belgium is perhaps Europe's most underrated country with some of the world's best beer and a national cuisine which consists of waffles, chocolate, mussels and French fries. Belgium's attractions include the capital Brussels, the historic Bruges, Antwerp, a bustling port city and centre of the world diamond trade, the eleven monasteries that produce the Belgium Trappist beer and the atural beauty of the Ardennes. Belgium is Europe in a nutshell, multicultural and multilingual. Flanders in the north, a flatland criss-crossed by canals, is proud of its great art cities, Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent. To the south in Wallonia, you will find the rolling hills of the Ardennes, numerous castles, and the cities of Liege, Namur, and Tournai. Pharmacies In Belgium, drugs and medicines are only sold in pharmacies (to be recognised by the green cross). In the yellow pages of the phone directory, pharmacies and drugstores are listed under the word apotheken. They are open every day except Saturday afternoons, Sundays and holidays. When closed, all pharmacies will post in their window a list of afterhour s pharmacies ( wachtdienst ). Weather Weather in Belgium is known to be unreliable. Prepare for colder rainy days. A wide variety of banks is found throughout the city of Brussels. Banks usually are open Monday till Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most banks close during the weekend. Credit cards are accepted in most places but some smaller restaurants and caffess only accept cash. There are also multiple ATM-machines available both in the airport and in Brussels. Summer time From March 28th till October 30th summer time operates in Belgium (GMT +2). 4

5 Electricity A.C. 220 volts 50 cycles. Plugs are of the round 2 pin type. Insurance While the organising committee of the InGRID-2 events will make every effort to ensure the safety and well-being of all workshop members and associates, responsibility cannot be taken for any accidents or damage that may occur during the event. Unfortunately, events provide a tempting target for thieves, so please take care of bags, laptops and other personal belongings during the event.
