2 Today you will enjoy a Shanghai city tour, winding through the largest financial and commercial center, visit the Shanghai Nanjing walking district and explore the Shanghai Museum to learn more of the local culture and history. Visit the Bund by the Huangpu River and experience the city where the old meets the new. Enjoy the optional Huangpu River Cruise. You will cruise along the Huangpu River, past many of Shanghai s famous sites such as the People s Hero Monuments, the Bund, the Oriental Pearl Tower, the bustling International Passenger Station of Shanghai Harbor, the docks, the Wu Song ancient gun fort relics and the impressive skyline of the Pu Dong business district. Today you will be transferred from Shanghai to Hangzhou. Upon arrival you will embark on a Hangzhou city tour Hangzhou being the political, economic and cultural centre of the Zheijang Province. The city is renowned for its beauty and abundance of Cultural heritage. You will visit the West Lake Cultural Landscape of Hangzhou, comprising of the West Lake and the surrounding hills, which have inspired famous poets, scholars and artists since the 9th Century. It is also home to numerous temples, pagodas, pavilions, gardens, causeways and artificial islands. Furthermore, you may enjoy an optional evening performance at the Impression West Lake Show. Accommodation: Hotel in Hangzhou for 1 night Today you will enjoy a visit to a tea plantation, where you will learn about tea picking and processing. Tea Village is part of the West Lake scenic area and has a history of over 600 years. It is rustic a beautiful location nestled amongst lush green hills. After lunch, you will be transferred to Suzhou, which is known as the Venice of the East due to its many beautiful waterways. The Grand Canal of Suzhou is the longest and oldest surviving man-made waterway in the world. You may then choose to join the optional Grand Canal boat ride. 3 Suzhou is famous for its gardens, which are renowned for their unique architectural and elaborate designs. After visiting the Master of Nets Garden, you will continue on to the most famous silk factory in China to understand the manufacturing processes of silk products and its rich history in China. Later you will board a bullet train to Beijing. Upon arrival you will be met by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation: Hotel in Beijing for 5 nights Begin your day with your daily hotel buffet breakfast, featuring a large selection of Asian and Western cuisine. You will then set out with your trip leader to discover Beijing s imperial treasures. Stand in Tiananmen Square, one of the largest and grandest public plazas in the world. Enter the imposing walls of the Forbidden City, once the exclusive domain of the Ming Dynasty, for an extensive tour through this vast complex. Afterwards, visit the Silk Factory Outlet to learn about silk, the very trade item which started the famous Silk Road, and its delicate manufacturing process. You have the option to join the Hutong Tour and explore the Hutong neighborhood, one of Beijing s rapidly disappearing traditional districts, on a rickshaw. As part of this tour, you will visit a local family for lunch and go shopping in the Beijing Wangfujing Walking District and Beijing Flea Market (Knock-Off Market). Return to your hotel in the evening, relax and refresh or enjoy an optional evening performance Acrobatic Show. Today, you will travel into the rugged mountain landscapes north of the city to the magnificent Great Wall of China. Once on top of this ancient defensive structure, you ll find that some sections are quite steep, but the views are magnificent and the experience is truly unforgettable. You will then learn about Jade, China s most precious and celebrated stone, and its manufacturing process at the largest Jade factory in Beijing. Afterwards you will head back to the city to enjoy an oriental foot massage. Furthermore, you have an option to join a tour of the Summer Palace renowned for its beautiful gardens and enjoyed by the Emperors and their families for hundreds of years or return to your hotel in the evening, relax and refresh or enjoy an evening performance at the Legend of KungFu Show. In the morning you will practice TaiChi in the Temple of Heaven. Tai Chi is an internal martial art system which places emphasis on the development and control of Chi (consciousness) energy within the body. In the afternoon, you will visit the 2008 Olympic Games sites including the Bird s Nest and Water Cube.

Must-See Attractions: The Beijing Zoo famous for its collection of rare and unique animals in China, including its resident Giant Pandas The Lama Temple is the largest and best-preserved lamasery in Beijing. 5 Beijing Legend of Kung Fu Enjoy a thrilling evening of entertainment at the Legend of Kung Fu Show. The performance follows the journey of a young monk found wandering outside an ancient temple who, like most boys his age, dreams of becoming a legendary Kung Fu master. On the road to enlightenment the young monk is faced with many hardships and temptations. The story is told through Kung Fu, dance and acrobatic stunts, and is a fusion of modern dance and Chinese traditional arts. Beijing Acrobatic Show The Chaoyang Acrobat Show is in our opinion one of the best shows to see while on tour in China. It appeals to all ages, from young children to adults. It is very visual and the show is not made of tricks but is feats of skill and fitness. It is comparable to many international Cirque style shows but at a price much lower and an opportunity to sit much closer. Having seen all the acrobat shows in Beijing and Shanghai, we consider this one to be the best of the lot. Beijing - Hutong Rickshaw tour with lunch/ Flea Market Amongst the giant mega towers of Beijing, lies a small piece of authentic Beijing. Here, in the Hutong neighborhood, you will find traditional courtyard style houses that date back hundreds of years. You will travel back in time to explore the hutong area on rickshaws, before enjoying lunch with a local family. Afterwards you will continue on to the famous Wangfujing walking district and explore the flea market, where incredible bargains can be found. Beijing Tour of the Summer Palace The Summer Palace, built in 1750, is the largest royal park in China. The palace offers breathtaking views over the Kunming Lake and a full history of the royal families who once called it home. Shanghai - Ancient water town with lunch tour Travel to an ancient water town nestled within the ultra-modern city of Shanghai. Suzhou Grand Canal Boat Ride Suzhou has often been called the Venice of the East due to the many causeways that characterise this unique town. It is home to the famous Grand Canal the longest and oldest surviving man-made waterway in the world, with some parts dating back more than 2,000 years. It is safe to say that the best way to explore this city is by boat. On this boat tour you will be able to admire the ancient canals and the beautiful houses decorated with iconic red lanterns, that line its banks. Hangzhou Impression West Lake Show Impressions of West Lake is an evening spectacle of music, light and dance, performed entirely on the beautiful West Lake in Hangzhou City. The surrounding mountains act as a stunning natural backdrop to this magical performance. The show tells the 1,000 year history and legends of the mesmerising West Lake District.
