Infrastructure Strategy

10 Year Infrastructure Plan

10 Year Infrastructure Plan

Sector Table: Transport and Logistics

Sector Table: Education

Infrastructure Priorities Supporting Local Industry Buy Local Plan increased local content weighting for contracts to 30 per cent and includes Value for Territory criteria. Stimulus Budget 2017 provides $350 million across two years for strategically timed initiatives to sustain Industry sectors and benefit the community. Rolling Program of Work providing a steady flow of work to Industry; publishing and circulating the Department forward works and planned procurements for building, civil and consultancies. 10 Year Infrastructure Plan ensuring Industry priorities are delivered in consistent and known timeframes.

Value for the Territory Initiatives Value-for-Territory procurement initiatives are now in place and support local business by improving the way local content and benefits are recognised, evaluated and realised. During April 2017, 100 per cent of construction contracts were awarded to local businesses with the average days from close of tender to award being 17 days. From 1 June 2017 tenders will be advertised and closed on any working day. This change removes the tension of having multiple tenders closing on the same day. Forward works lists are distributed to stakeholders and published online to ensure advance notice of program and project
