3 President s Welcome Welcome to the Netball NSW 2015 State Age Championships, one of the largest grassroots sporting events in Australia. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the Darug and Wallumedegal people, the traditional custodians of the land where this year s Championships will be held, and may I pay my respects to the Elders both past and present. In an exciting prospect, this year s Championships will see each Division hosted by one of four Member Associations: Baulkham Hills Shire, Eastwood Ryde, Penrith District and Hawkesbury City. There will be 294 teams representing 91 Associations from across NSW competing this year, with 388 umpires overseeing proceedings. To the coaches, managers, parents, guardians, family, friends and the wider netball community who will be in attendance, we thank you for playing your part in making these Championships such a fantastic occasion and for your encouragement and support of the participants. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the host Presidents: Julie Poole from Baulkham Hills Shire, Anne Doring OAM from Eastwood Ryde, Joy Gillett OAM from Penrith District, and Tracy Chalk from Hawkesbury City. That gratitude and thanks extends to your Executives, Members and Volunteers for their tireless efforts which have gone into preparing for this event and the endless work that will be conducted over the course of the Championships and long after the last whistle has been blown. Our thanks also to our Major Partners for the Championships The Athlete s Foot, BBX and Coast2Coast. You all play a very important role in assisting Netball NSW to continue the wonderful traditions of our great game. To the many, many volunteers across the four venues and my own team at Netball NSW, I would like to thank you for your continue commitment, professionalism and passion that you put into everything that you do. To have this year s event spanning four locations is a logistical challenge, but with your thorough planning and preparation, I know it will be a great success for the sport of netball in NSW. I wish everyone a wonderful 2015 State Age Championships and I look forward to joining you courtside to enjoy three days of great netball across the four venues.
