6 15/16 VicRoads Statewide Allocation The 15/16 VicRoads Roads Program is valued at approximately $1.7 billion Includes all VicRoads activities associated with: Improving the network Maintaining the network Operating the network Planning the network Accessing the network

7 15/16 VicRoads Statewide Allocation Of this, the allocation for network improvements, maintenance and planning is approximately $1.5 billion This includes: $840M for Projects $474M for Network Maintenance $113M for Network Safety Programs $76M for Network Improvement Programs $22M for Planning

9 Network Maintenance For 15/16, Eastern Region has an allocation of approximately $46M to maintain the network This includes: Pavements Structures Roadside Electrical / ITS $38.5M $1.3M $5.4M $0.7M

10 Network Maintenance Pavement Maintenance consists of; Routine Pavement Maintenance $8.1M Pavement Periodic Maintenance $11.9M (Estimated network coverage 5.7%) Pavement Rehabilitation $10.3M (Includes final seals to previous Rehabs and 11 new Projects (total estimated cost = $8.3M)) Pavement Major Repairs $7.1M Pavement Marking $1.0M 10

11 Network Safety Programs For 15/16, Eastern Region has an allocation of approximately $20.1M to improve road safety under the following programs Safe System Road Infrastructure Program (SSRIP) Funding of approximately $15.2M Anticipated over 22 Projects Infrastructure Investment Black Spot Program (Municipal) Funding of approximately $4.9M Anticipated over 23 Projects

12 Network Safety Programs Safer Road Infrastructure Program (SRIP) Funded through the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) $3.8 million for the Strzelecki Highway north-east of Leongatha for safety barriers, rumble strips and tree removal Advertise Q FY $416,000 for the Inverloch-Venus Bay/Tarwin Lower Road intersection for resurfacing, safety barriers, signage and line marking improvements and vegetation removal Advertise Q FY $360,000 for the Strzelecki Highway at Leongatha to create a protected right turn lane at Mardan Road intersection, resurfacing, line marking, drainage and signage Advertise Q FY 12

13 Network Safety Programs Safer Road Infrastructure Program (SRIP) Funded through the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) $1.7 million for Tyers Road between Traralgon and Tyers for safety barriers, signage and line marking improvements and vegetation removal Advertise Q FY $264,000 for the Drouin Warragul Road and Colman Street intersection for fully controlled right hand turns and signal reprogramming and hardware. Alliance delivery FY $2.5 million for the Inverloch Venus Bay within the area of Tarwin Lower for safety barriers, signage and line marking improvements and vegetation removal. Advertise Q FY 13

15 Network Improvement Programs For 15/16, Eastern Region has an allocation of approximately $9.2M for network improvement programs These programs include: Freight Access and Reliability Improvements $9.2M

16 Construction of a new truck stop on the Princes Highway near Murrungowar Road, east of Orbost ($3.38 million (Total Estimated Cost) ) Jointly funded by the Federal and State Governments Advertise Q FY 16

20 INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS For 15/16, Eastern Region and Major Projects have an allocation of approximately $59M for infrastructure projects These projects include: Rural Arterial Road Improvements $58M Other Local Roads $1M

21 Commencement (geo-technical investigations, design and service relocation in the FY) for the Tyers Road Latrobe River Bridge replacement and minor road realignment ($8.963 million) Advertise Q FY 21

22 Planning and Preconstruction For 15/16, Eastern Region and Major Projects have an allocation of approximately $0.85M to plan and develop projects for future years These projects include: South Gippsland Highway Other $0.08M $0.77M

23 Regional Delivery Plan For 15/16, Eastern Region will be advertising 6 new Formal Contracts for improvement works valued at approximately $29.5M (Total Estimated Cost) In addition the VicRoads Eastern Roads Alliance will deliver the majority of the Network Maintenance valued at approximately $46M. This will include the competitive tendering of the Region-wide resurfacing program, of a value of approximately $11.8M.

24 Alliance VicRoads is changing the way it delivers maintenance and minor road improvement services in Gippsland. Using an Alliance approach and working with a principal partner, VicRoads aims to: - Be more responsive to the needs of road users. - Be more efficient in delivering road maintenance activities. - Apply a needs based approach to maintenance planning and decision making. - Provide services that are outcome focused with a best for network approach to maintenance. 24
