I wish to take this opportunity to thank all stakeholders for their commitment to the CCQ Community over the past 12 months. As a community and an organisation we have broken new ground and matured considerably. The Election of the Committee for is an important one. If we wish to continue to achieve recognition and influence by local and State Governments, it is important new people, with a desire to be involved, should nominate. Included in this Newsletter is a list of achievements, over the past 12 months, by the retiring Committee. It has been both exhilarating and satisfying. With the right people in 2015, this can continue. Just take a look. I would like to thank the outgoing Committee for their support, and to the Delegates I say thank you for your commitment. Your Clubs can be proud of the job you have done. Given your support I will nominate for another term, with a view to finishing some of the tasks in progress. 6 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CARAVAN CLUBS NACC History In 1970/71 the very first National Rally was held at Mildura and was organised by the Caravan Club of South Australia. Six clubs were in attendance at this rally. Further National Rallies were organised by the different state associations and it was not until 1990 at the 7 th National Rally that a decision was made to form an Australian Association of Caravan Clubs. In 1993 at the 8 th National Rally the National Association of Caravan Clubs was formed and became incorporated. Each State Association took turns at being the National Secretariat for a three year period and was responsible for organising the National Rally at the end of their three year tenure. Since incorporated Associations are typically State based, it became increasingly clear that a national body needed to be under Federal jurisdiction and after much work, it was agreed to change the National Association to a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Corporations Act. The National Association of Caravan Clubs Limited was officially registered in December 2009 with the President of each State Association of Caravan clubs being the members of the new company. As the NACC is a Company Limited by Guarantee, it does not have any shareholders and the membership is restricted to the State Associations. The NACC is managed by a Board of Directors who are appointed by the State Associations. In several cases the President of the State Association is also the NACC Director for that state. National Rallies are still a key function of the NACC as well as being a member of MoTOURing Australia which represents the interests of all RV owners at the national level. Members of the NACC are: Canberra Caravan Club Inc. NSW Association of Caravan Clubs Inc. Caravan Clubs of Queensland Inc. Association of Caravan Clubs South Australia Inc. Association of Caravan Clubs Victoria Inc. Western Australian Association of Caravan Clubs Inc. Page 6

8 LOCALITY EXPENDITURE - SHOPPING DOCKETS Over the last several years it has been the practice of members of caravan clubs in Queensland to save their shopping dockets when on club rallies and to then submit them along with the total of their camping fees to the CCQ. The CCQ tallies the amount of money spent by members in each council region for the year. These figures are then distributed to the local councils and state and federal governments in an effort to show the economic benefits that the caravanning fraternity brings to those regions and why governments and business should be investing in infrastructure and welcoming clubs to their regions. Locality Expenditure Summary expendituresccq@gmail.com This report has been filtered to limit the report to the following criteria: Period 2014 All Clubs All Venue Types All Localities All Local Government Areas Data provided by the participating Affiliated Caravan Clubs Participating Clubs 26 Events 205 Max Min Average Vans Localities Local Government Areas 29 Venues Visits Expenditures Caravan Park 53 $84, Free Stay 7 $0.00 Other 29 $9, Scout Ground 10 $10, Showground 106 $178, Expenditures Site $282, Dining $142, Other $306, Major $88, Period Total $820, Average / Van $0.00 History (All Clubs, all years) $820, $770, $624, $565, Total Locality Expenditure (to date for all Clubs) $2,779, Report presented by Bob Barnett Page 8
