3 EGYPTAIR Maintenance & Engineering COMPANY PROFILE E gyptair Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) Company is a subsidiary of EgyptAir Holding Company. It is the only full-maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service provider in Egypt. The principal role of EgyptAir M&E is to support EgyptAir s mixed fleet of 45 aircraft and to serve the third-party market. EgyptAir M&E holds an Egyptian Civil Aviation Approval and EASA 145 certificate allowing it to offer MRO services to regional and European carriers. EgyptAir M&E has an authorized capital of LE 500 million and a paid-in capital of LE 330 million distributed over 300,000 shares with a value of LE 100 each. MAIN SERVICES EgyptAir M&E provides the following MRO services: Light and Heavy Maintenance Provision of all light and heavy maintenance on the types of aircraft that comprise EgyptAir s fleet.

4 MAIN SERVICES EgyptAir M&E provides the following MRO services: Light and Heavy Maintenance Provision of all light and heavy maintenance on the types of aircraft that comprise EgyptAir s fleet. The following Airbus models are served: A , A300B4, A320, A321, A330 and A340; as are the following Boeing models: B737-Series, B767, B , B , B and Embraer 170. Engine Overhaul Support for both old and new generation engines, which include the P&W4158/4060, P&W 4090, IAE V2500 A1/A5, GE CF6-50, CFM-56 3C/5C and Trent 700 models. Component Repair and Overhaul Services on major component groups, such as mechanical components (hydraulics, landing gear, brakes, wheels) and avionic components (ATEC and radio instruments and electrical systems). Calibration Activities Electrical measurements: DC and AC voltage and current, resistance and pressure measurements, gas and hydraulic gauges, frequency measurement and torque measurement. NDT Provide NDT systems to measure eddy current, ultrasonic, X-ray and gamma ray, penetrate inspection, and magnetic partial inspection. 51

6 PROJECTS AND SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENTS IN 2006/2007 Accreditation EgyptAir M&E gained EASA 145 accreditation in Cairo, Damam, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Alexandria for line maintenance. Also, gain EASA accreditation in Cairo for Base/Heavy Maintenance (for Airbus Types). Engine Overhaul Workshop EgyptAir M&E established a new engine workshop approximately 8,000 squares meters and equipped with high-end technology. With a capability of processing around 40 engines per year. The workshop was opened in the second quarter of EgyptAir M&E equipped the workshop with the technical capabilities to service many types of engine. The following engines will be maintained to B1 and B2 level: PW 4090, PW 4158, CFM 56-3C and 5C, CF6-50C2, V2500A1 and A5, Trent 700 (B0 only) and APU (GTCP ). B3-level service will be available for CFM56-3 and -5, V2500-A1 and -A5 engines. The workshop has a test bed equipped with a 100,000 pound thrust rating, capable of testing PW 4158, CFM 56-3C1 and APU (GTCP ). Contracted Customers/Operators In 2007, EgyptAir M&E made agreements with six customers to provide full technical support services, including planning, engineering, material supply, component repair, line maintenance and base maintenance. EgyptAir M&E engaged with 26 customers to provide line-maintenance activities. Material Complex EgyptAir M&E constructed a material complex with storage capacity for more than 500,000 line items in compliance with international standards for storage and handling of aeronautic parts. It also implemented quality procedures for receipt, inspection, storage and handling, identification and segregation of materials. The complex is equipped with a range of racking systems, materialhandling equipment, an automated management system, utilities and miscellaneous equipment. Calibration Lab The EgyptAir M&E calibration lab was granted ISO approval in 2006 for the following activities: electrical measurement, pressure measurement, frequency measurement and torque measurement.
