11 Combined F-, C- or Y-Class Travel For through journeys where the passenger travels partly on F-Class and partly on C- or Y- Class service the free baggage allowance on each portion of travel shall be that applicable to the class of service for which the fare is paid. Interlining In case of interlining when LH is the first transporting carrier and the free baggage allowance is identical, the applicable LH charges shall be applied for the one-way direction of travel per checked portion. This inclues interline sectors and as far as baggage has been checked through according to valid through-check and accounting rules. In case of interlining and the free baggage allowance is not identical, the applicable LH excess baggage charges have to be charged also if only required for parts of the journey and the LH sectors should be collected for the LH portion of the travel according to LH allowance and regulations. For interlining on ongoing other airline sectors, excess applies according to the transporting carrier's rules and charges. When other airlines offer the first leg of the journey, other charges (i.e. IATA standard of 1,5% of Y-oneway) could be applied. Exceptions for Condor flights: The LH excess baggage regulations and charges also apply for travel on LT and DE sectors including sporting equipment. Exception for sporting equipment on DE: Condor passengers may book and pay certain sports equipment and also excess baggage in advance. Such passengers will hold a confirmation and in these cases, only the excess for the LH sector shall be charged. Exceptions for Customer Airlines: For all airlines handled by LH on behalf of the Customer Airline (local check-in), excess baggage is handled according to the contracted rules. 11

12 If free baggage allowances of LH and OAL are the same: When LH is the first transporting carrier, the new LH excess baggage weight rates shall be applied throughout the trip to the final destination and baggage will be through-checked according to the applicable through-check-in rules. Examples: Allowance 20kg both carriers (LH and OAL), passenger has 28kg. STR-FRA (LH flight) - FRA-TUN (TU flight): excess of 8kg to be collected for whole routing STR-TUN according to LH flatrates (8kg x 10 = 80). DEL-FRA (LH flight) - FRA-LHR (BA flight): excess of 8kg to be collected for whole routing DEL-LHR according to LH flatrates (8kg x 30 = 240). If free baggage allowances of LH and OAL are not the same - but the customer's excess is within the OAL allowance: Combination of LH feeder flight weight concept and OAL connection piece concept or combination of LH flight weight allowance and OAL higher weight allowance. If the allowance on OAL sectors are higher than for LH, but the actual baggage weight is within the OAL allowance and only exceeding on LH, the weight excess rates for the LH sectors have to be charged and baggage will be through-checked. Examples: Passenger has 28kg FRA-LIS (LH weight concept 20kg) LIS-SAO (TP piece concept 2pc x 23kg ea, total 46kg): for the LH-sector FRA-LIS excess of 8kg to be collected according to LH flatrates (8kg x 10 = 80); no charge for OAL. HAM-FRA (LH weight concept 20kg) and FRA-KUL (MH weight concept 30kg): for the LHsector HAM-FRA excess of 8kg to be collected according to LH flatrates (8kg x 5 = 40); no charge for OAL. If free baggage allowance of LH and OAL are not the same - and the customer's excess is exceeding the OAL allowance: Split for LH and OAL sectors; charge of the carriers sectors based on the carrier's allowance and LH rates to be applied in both cases. Baggage will be through-checked. In case that customer does not accept the calculation for the OAL-sector, baggage shall not be through-checked and charge shall only be collected for LH-sector. Examples: 12

13 Passenger has 50kg FRA-LIS (LH weight concept 20kg), LIS-SAO (TP piece concept 2pc x 23kg ea, total 46kg): for the LH-sector FRA-LIS excess of 30kg to be collected according to LH flatrates (30kg x 10 = 300); for the TP-sector excess of 4kg to be collected according to LH flatrates (4kg x 30 = 120). Total charge 420. HAM-FRA (LH weight concept 20kg) and FRA-KUL (MH weight concept 30kg): for the LH-sector HAM-FRA excess of 30kg to be collected according to LH flatrates (30kg x 5 = 150); for the MH-secotr FRA-KUL 20kg to be collected according to LH flatrates (20kg x 30 = 600). Total charge 750. In case that customer does not accept the calculation for the OAL-sector, baggage shall not be through-checked and charge shall only be collected for LH-sector. Excess Baggage Charges Collection All excess baggage must be assessed and charged for prior to the boarding of the aircraft by the passenger to the next point of stopover: in effect on the date of issuance of the excess baggage ticket in the direction of travel per checked portion: from the point for which the checked baggage allowance is exceeded to the first point at which the baggage is collected (excluding any transfer points) Through charges are not applicable for split ticketing. 13

14 Rates for Weight Concept Baggage in excess of the checked baggage allowance will be charged by LH at following rates by kg and published under GGAIRLHPT7INFO and GGAIRLHWEIGHT: In all cases of baggage excess, a minimum charge of EUR 30 will be collected, when the resulting amount was lower.
