Set out on a walking tour and discover the treasures of Neuchatel s historic quarter with its unique architecture and structures from the Belle Époque period. Next, it s on to the village of Auvenier and Caves du Chateau d Auvenier, a centuries-old vineyard that has remained in the same family for fourteen generations. A tour of the chateau s cellars demands a tasting of their everlasting vintages and a chance to learn how nature, soil and tradition converge to create a vintage s character and flavor. Lausanne Vineyards UNESCO World Heritage Site Nestled between Lausanne and Montreux, along the crystal shores of Lake Geneva, the bon viveur of a region known as the Swiss Wine Route begs exploration. Switzerland s largest, most contiguous region stretches for miles (800 hectares to be exact) with daringly-constructed hillside terraces that have earned the UNESCO World Heritage site designation. This is Lavaux, the heart of Swiss wine country, where distinctive vintages feature heady notes of tradition dating as far back as the 11th century, and footpaths whisk you to destinations of pastoral splendor where wine cellars and tasting rooms dot the incredible scenery of the Lavaux vineyard region, awakening all the senses, but most especially, the sense of taste. Please Note: Single accommodations are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis. Triple accommodations are not available due to hotel restrictions. Air passengers will arrive and depart Zurich, Switzerland airport. Your Swiss Travel Pass will be needed for ALL transportation on this tour, utilizing the Swiss Travel System. Porterage service for luggage is included between hotels. Upon arrival, a Collette representative will meet you at the Zurich airport to secure luggage transfer; then accompany you via train to Neuchatel utilizing the Swiss Travel System - and escort you to the hotel.
