3 Eligibility of Teams/Members 3 To have qualified for the competition, individuals/teams must be US citizens attend any WSGC Academic Affiliate Institution fulltime submit an academic institutional representative acknowledgement have a committed faculty mentor be comprised of 4-6 team members select a team leader

5 2017 Competition 5 Onboard Power Generation Apogee Window Flight Accuracy Flight Mission Demonstrate a process to generate power during preapogee portion of flight ft - Predict flight of Rocket - Closest to 3000 ft Onboard Power Generation During Pre-Apogee Rocket Motors to select from: Constraints Ceseroni (38 mm) CTI I540 CTI J335 CTI J270 CTI J357
6 2017 Competition Parameters 6 Demonstrate a process to generate electric power during pre-apogee portion of flight. Must complete a successful flight. Must reach an apogee between 2000 and 3500 ft Must employ electronic deployment of the recovery parachute and motor deployment as a backup. Downed rocket location aid must be included in the design. Apogee closest to 3000 ft.
7 Safe and Successful Flight 7 Safe Flight must achieve: Launch Stable, vertical flight during ascent Electronically deployed recovery system must successfully deploy Rocket must be recovered in flyable condition Successful Flight must achieve: Safe Flight Apogee between 2000 ft and 3500 ft

22 6 Components of the Competition 22 Project Management Purpose: To support team members development of professional project management skills Evaluation will include ability of teams to complete all deliverables and meet all deadlines in a timely manner. All registered team members will be required to selfenroll on the CRL2017 CourseSite in their team s group (identified by school) Access Code CRL2017_is_go Bi-Weekly Work Logs must be submitted by each individual team member.
