7 AIP ENR IRAQ 26 APR 2018 ENR 1.4 ATS AIRSPACE CLASSIFICATION AND DESCRIPTION 1. Classification of airspaces ATS airspaces are classified and designated in accdance with the following: Class A. IFR flights only are permitted; all flights are subject to air traffic control service and are separated from each other. This class of airspace is established from FL 460 throughout the whole FIR. Class B. IFR and VFR flights are permitted; all flights are subject to air traffic control service and are separated from each other. Class C. IFR and VFR flights are permitted, all flights are subject to air traffic control service and IFR flights are separated from other IFR flights and from VFR flights.vfr flights are separated from IFR flights and receive traffic infmation in respect of other VFR flights. Class D. IFR and VFR flights are permitted and all flights are subject to air traffic control service, IFR flights are separated from other IFR flights and receive traffic infmation in respect of VFR flights, VFR flights receive traffic infmation in respect of all other flights. This class of airspace is established in conjunction with airpts that have operating control towers, as well as within Ali, and Kirkuk TMAs. Class E. IFR and VFR flights are permitted; IFR flights are subject to air traffic control service and are separated from other IFR flights, with the exception mentioned in the table. All flights receive traffic infmation as far as is practical. This class of airspace is established along ATS routes below. Class F. IFR and VFR flights are permitted, all participating IFR flights receive an air traffic advisy service and all flights receive flight infmation service if requested. Class G. IFR and VFR flights are permitted and receive flight infmation service if requested. This class of airspace is established f all areas that are not classified as A, D E. This airspace is primarily used by military VFR aircraft. A Common Traffic Advisy Frequency (CTAF) is established f aircraft self deconfliction. Aircraft operating in Class G airspace should broadcast intentions on CTAF VHF to deconflict. If assistance is required, two-way communication may be established with the closest ATC unit. Pilots need to remain clear of controlled airspace until two-way communication has been established with ATC to obtain clearance into controlled airspace. Pilots are advised that due to equipment limitations in remote areas, continuous two-way radio communications are not always possible throughout the FIR, especially at lower altitude. Iraq Civil Aviation Authity AIRAC AIP AMDT 03/18
