Excep ons will be made for associates who live in the Greater New York area that have a commute of two hours or more each way to the mee ng Gala Check in Date All Non U.S. associates The official check in date for all non U.S. associates is Sunday, April 2 a er 3:00 p.m. ET. For those with flights that arrive earlier in the day, every effort will be made to have your room available when you arrive at the hotel. If you would like a guaranteed early check in, your room must be booked from the night before your actual arrival and this would be subject to availability and at your own expense ($ plus applicable state and local taxes, currently at 14.75%, and a $3.50 occupancy tax per room per night for a single occupancy room). U.S. associates outside of the Greater New York area The official check in date for U.S. associates from outside of the Greater New York area is Monday, April 3 a er 3:00 p.m. ET. 5 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Only reserva ons made through BCD via will be paid for by MetLife. Flight reserva ons made through any other travel agencies, to include local MetLife approved travel agencies, will NOT be reimbursed and will be your own expense MetLife will pay for Economy/Coach class only BCD will send you proposed flights based on the lowest roundtrip airfare that meets the mee ng mes, dates and des na on restric ons. If you book outside the mee ng dates, you will be responsible for any addi onal costs Any flight changes made a er your ckets have been issued will not be paid for by MetLife and will be your own expense You will be responsible for researching visa requirements and making visa arrangements. Regardless of if you need a visa or not, please check with your local Embassy on the passport validity requirements for entering the U.S., if applicable. If you are planning to connect prior to your arrival to the US, please ensure to check transit visa requirements. Please wait with booking your flights un l you have received approval for your visa Attire Gala Dinner Business formal GTO Strategy Workshop Business formal Banks/Currency Exchange It is recommended that you withdraw local currency at automated teller machines (ATMs) as ATMs usually offer the best exchange rates. It is suggested to use major credit cards for purchases and the payment of your hotel incidental charges during the conference. Important: It is not recommended to use a bank debit card to guarantee your incidentals when you check in because there will be an automatic hold on your personal finances. You should inform your credit card company of your travel to the U.S. prior to leaving home as many banks will not permit overseas transac ons unless they are informed in advance of your plans to be abroad. 6 Electricity Standard electricity in the USA is 100 V and requires a Type A or B plug as shown below. Expenses Travel expenses will be covered centrally by GTO in New York. Every a endee is assigned their own room at the Lo e New York Palace. The following expenses will be covered centrally by GTO in New York: Hotel room and tax at the Lo e New York Palace (April 2 3 for all non U.S. associates; April 3 for U.S. associates based outside of the Greater New York area) Flights for all non U.S. associates and U.S. associates based outside of the Greater New York area booked through BCD Travel via via the process outlined in this registra on guide and on the registra on website The following expenses will be your responsibility: Travel expenses (mileage, etc.) Pre/Post overnight accommoda ons: check in prior to April 2 (All non U.S. Associates)/April 3 (U.S. Associates based outside of the Greater New York area) and check out a er April 4 Checked luggage and/or overweight luggage charges Incidental charges at the hotel Meals, except for dinner on April 3 Any expenses related to visa applica ons Ground Transportation MetLife will not arrange for transporta on to and from the airport. 7 Medical Information If you have any allergies or pre exis ng medical condi ons that require special accommoda ons, please indicate that on the online registra on form. For your convenience and well being, it is important that you bring a sufficient supply of any prescrip on medicine you may need as prescrip ons usually cannot be re filled in a foreign country. Mobile Phones For those traveling from outside of the U.S., please contact your local mobile phone carrier for rate and compa bility informa on prior to traveling. Passports & Visas If applicable you are responsible for checking on visa requirements with your local U.S. Embassy, the visa applica on process as well as any costs related to a visa applica on. Special Dietary Requirements If you have any special dietary requirements, it is very important to include this informa on in the Special Accommoda ons/dietary Needs sec on of the online web registra on ( h ps:// ) as some special dietary requirements are hard to accommodate last minute or onsite. Weather April tends to be both wet and unpredictable, so we recommend you pack accordingly. We recommend you take plenty of warm clothes as it can some mes feel colder than expected. The average high temperature in April is 60 degrees Fahrenheit / 16 degrees Celsius and the average low temperature is 45 degrees Fahrenheit / 7 degrees Celsius.
