7 ABOUT GENERAL INFO LOST & FOUND Items that are either lost or found are to be reported / handed over to the Information Desks situated inside the Public Area (Check-In Hall) and the Passengers Area (Departures Schengen). In case you realise that an item is lost after leaving the air terminal please contact us using the telephone numbers or address here under. Telephone: , lostandfound@maltairport.com LUGGAGE DEPOSIT Malta International Airport operates a 24/7 luggage deposit service. The storage room is located inside the Check-In Hall near the Information Desk. BANKING SERVICES Cash machines are located upon arrival on Level 1, in the Departures Hall on Level 0 and in the Welcomers Hall on Level 0. A Bank of Valletta branch is located at SkyParks Business Centre. POSTAL SERVICES MaltaPost p.l.c. has an office inside the Check-in Hall, open daily from Monday to Saturday from 07:30hrs until 12:45hrs. Post boxes are available near the office and inside the Departures Area (Schengen). WI-FI (INTERNET ACCESS) MIA offers its customers free wireless internet access in all areas of the Air Terminal including the restaurants. 7

8 ABOUT GENERAL INFO BTERY CHARGING UNITS Multi-plug charging stations are available within the Departures Area. Locations: Individual points near Passport Control, four multi-unit stations near Gates 3 to 7 and one station at Non-Schengen Area in front of Gate 13. WER FOUNTAINS Water fountains are also available within the Departures area. Locations: Between Hard Rock Café and the Police Office and also in the non-schengen area near to the bathrooms. MOBILE NETWORKS Malta has three service providers for mobile communications: Vodafone, Go and Melita. All have local and roaming connectivity within the Air Terminal. Pre-paid cards are available from leading outlets at the airport. Vodafone has its own outlet situated inside the Welcomers Hall on Level 0. BUS SERVICE A fully air-conditioned bus service is provided, servicing a number of locations around the island. Holy Mass is celebrated on the following days: Weekdays from Monday to Friday at 12:05hrs Weekend & Public Holidays: Saturdays at 18:15hrs and 19:25hrs. Sundays at 07:25hrs, 08:30hrs and 10:30hrs. 90 SECURITY INFORMION PASSENGER & CABIN BAGGAGE Without prejudice to applicable safety rules, passengers are not permitted to carry the following articles into the security restricted areas, and on board the aircraft: A. This means that at Malta Airport security checkpoints, passengers and their hand luggage must also be checked for liquids in addition to other prohibited articles. 91 SECURITY INFORMION The following items are allowed through Malta Airport security check points: Liquids in individual containers with a maximum capacity of 100ml each, packed inside a resealable 1 litre plastic bag. Only one bag per passenger is permitted. It is recommended that passengers prepare these bags at home before arriving at the airport. The bags are to be taken out of the hand luggage and presented at the security checkpoint. They shall be x-rayed separately. Duty free liquids, aerosols or gels purchased from any airport or airline sealed in a security bag. The duty free liquid, aerosol or gel together with the receipt must be sealed inside a security bag with a red border at the time of purchase. The bag should not be opened until the final destination. Medicines and special dietary products, such as baby food, vital for the trip are also allowed. They need not be in the 1 litre bag but are to be taken out of the hand luggage, and presented separately at the security checkpoint for screening with liquid scanners. Passengers may be asked for proof of authenticity when travelling with such liquids (a medical certificate covering the specific items may be required). Exceptionally, security staff may open bottles or containers for screening. Following the security screening of liquids aerosols and gels, they may not be permitted through the security checkpoint. Lithium batteries are considered as dangerous goods and due to safety regulations, can only be taken on board a plane with limitations. 92 SECURITY INFORMION Whenever possible, passengers should pack liquids in the hold baggage. Liquids include: All drinks, including water, soup and syrups; Cosmetics and toiletries, including creams, lotions, oils,perfumes, mascara and lipsticks; Sprays, including shaving foam, hairspray and spray deodorants; Pastes, including toothpaste; Gels, including hair and shower gel; Contact lens solution; Any other solutions and items of similar consistency. One lighter per person may be carried on a fight. Lighters are considered to contain liquids and should be placed inside the 1 litre plastic bag. Large electrical items, laptops, tablets are to be presented to security personnel out of the hand luggage for separate screening. Coats and jackets shall also be screened separately. Passengers are also asked to divest from all metallic items such as (but not limited to) coins, keys, pens etc. and place them in the available blue containers to be x-rayed. 94 SHOPPING SHOPPING Retail on landside and airside offers passengers a varied choice. A Pharmacy which is open till late is situated within the Welcomers Hall. This is located on the right as soon as you walk out of the Baggage Reclaim Area. Before the Security Checkpoint, the outlets vary from HEBE to a fully-stocked WHSmith Convenience Store, an Agenda Bookshop, a Samsonite outlet, Claire s Fashion Accessories, telecommunications services by Vodafone and a Lotto Booth. Past the Security checkpoint one will find a walk-through Duty Free Store by Nuance, consisting of a wide variety of products from Perfume and Cosmetics, Spirits and Confectionery to Tobacco products.
