SURFE MOVEMENT GUINE N ONTROL SYSTEM n dvanced Surface Movement Guidance and ontrol System, using Mode-S multilateration, is in operation. FT operators shall ensure that Mode S transponders are able to operate when the FT is on the ground. Pilots shall select UTO mode and assigned Mode code. If UTO mode is not available, select ON (e.g. XPR) and assigned Mode code under the following conditions: - From the request for push-back or taxi, whichever is earlier; - fter landing, continuously until the FT is fully parked on stand; - When fully parked on stand, select STY. Whenever the FT is capable of reporting FT ident (i.e. call sign used in flight), the FT ident should also be entered from the request for push-back or taxi, whichever is earlier (through the FMS or the transponder control panel). FT crew shall use the format for entry of the FT ident as defined in IO (e.g. FR638, SS89, W68PG). To ensure that the performance of system based on SSR frequencies (including airborne TS units and SSR radars) is not comprised, TS should be selected when approaching the holding point. It shall be deselected after vacating the RWY. For the purpose of maintenance or technical inspection, FT parked in an aerodrome or in hangar transponder Mode code 77 or 77 shall be selected..4.
