1 Day 01- Colombo Cairo (D) Leaving from Katunayake Bandaranayake international airport & arrive to the land of the pharos, Upon arrival Cairo international airport you will be welcomed by World Travel Centre representative, then you will be transfer to your hotel with our air conditioned comfortable buses to have dinner and overnight at your hotel, on the way our representative will give you all the information you need about Cairo and about your itinerary in Egypt. Day 02 Cairo Giza - Alexandria (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Check out & transfer to Cairo Museum visit & Papyrus institute. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. After the lunch transfer to visit Giza Pyramids, Sphinx. Evening transfer to Alexandria. Overnight Alexandria. Cairo Museum In Cairo, Egypt, containing the world s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts. It also administers other Egyptian museums and controls excavations in the country. Egyptian Museum s collections have consisted of more than 120,000 artifacts ranging from 5000 to 1400 years old.

2 Great Pyramids Located on the west bank of the Nile River on the outskirts of Cairo, the pyramids at Giza, Egypt, ranks as some of the best known monuments in the world. The ancient Egyptians constructed the pyramids to serve as royal tombs. Built without the use of Cranes, pulleys, or lifting tackle, the massive structures stand as testaments to the engineering skills of their makers. The largest pyramid is the one built for King Khufu, at the site of modern Giza. Khufu s pyramid, known as the Great Pyramid, is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World that still survives. Great Sphinx Sphinx More than 4000 years old, the Great Sphinx of Giza is the most famous emblem of ancient Egypt. The stone figure of a lion in a resting posture, the upper part of the body being that of a human, usually male rather than female. In Egypt sphinxes appear to have been set up along avenues that formed the approaches to temples.

3 Day 03 - Alexandria - Cairo (B/L/D) Breakfast will be served at hotel. After the breakfast check-out from hotel, will start the full day tour around Alexandria. Visit in morning. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. After the lunch transfer to visit Catacombs & Pompey's Pillar. Stop by the Monataz palaces for a photo stop where the royal family used to live. Transfer back to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo. Lunch & Dinner at local restaurants. Alexandria is the second largest city and the second largest metropolitan area in Egypt after Greater Cairo by size and population, extending about 32 km along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the north central part of the country Alexandria was founded around a small Ancient Egyptian town. 331 BC by Alexander the Great. Library of Alexandria The Royal Library of Alexandria was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world. It was dedicated to the Muses, the nine goddesses of the arts. Fort of Qaitbay Fort of Qaitbay, is a 15th-century defensive fortress located on the Mediterranean Sea coast, and was established in 1477 AD by Sultan AlAshraf Sayf al-din Qa'it Bay. The Citadel is situated on the eastern side of the northern tip of Pharos Island at the mouth of the Eastern harbour. Catacombs The Catacombs of Kom El Shuqafa are reached through a spiral staircase encircling a shaft down which the bodies of the deceased were lowered. Pompey's Pillar The so-called "Pompey Pillar" is the biggest memorial column in Egypt. It is a huge column of red granite, its total height is about 28 m with a diameter at the base of 2.7 m, and towards the capital at the top it tapers to 2.3 m.

4 Day 04 - Cairo - Khan Khalili Bazar - Aswan (B/L/D) Breakfast will be served at hotel; Start the tour with free time for shopping at Khan Khalili Bazar, the largest Bazar in Middle East this Market is famous for its unusual, typical oriental souvenirs and handmade crafts. Medieval atmosphere of this traditional market gives visitors great pleasure and glimpse into what medieval markets were like: Cafes, restaurants, shops. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Overnight in Cairo. Dinner will be served at local restaurant. (Optional Tours to Suez Canal is available. Arrangements for the Suez Canal tour can be made on your request before purchasing the package) Evening you will be transferred to railway TPO station to board the sleeper train to Aswan for overnight journey (12-13 hours) - shower facilities not available. Day 05 Arrival to Aswan/Unfinished obelisk/philae temple/nile Cruise/Felucca Ride (B/L/D) Breakfast will be served on board. Day starts with visiting unfinished obelisks. On your way to unfinished obelisks you will have a visit to Philaetemple. After the Philae temple visit proceeds to visit the unfinished obelisk is the largest known ancient obelisk and is located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt in Aswan. Archaeologists claim the pharaoh known as Hatshepsut sanctioned its construction. It is nearly one third larger than any ancient Egyptian obelisk ever erected. If finished it would have measured around 42 m (approximately 137 feet) and would have weighed nearly 1,200 tons. Archeologists speculate that it was intended to complement the so called Lateran Obelisk which was originally at Karnak and is now outside the Lateran Palace in Rome. Embark to the 5* Nile cruise. Lunch will be served on board, have some rest before riding a traditional Egyptian sailing boat at the river Nile and view the Mausoleum of Agha Kaha and sail around. Return to the cruise ship, dinner and overnight in Cruise.

5 Day 06 Abu Simbel /Aswan High Dam/ Kom Ombo (B/L/D) Early wake up call, a packed breakfast and then drive through the Nubian Desert to Abu Simbel visiting the temples of Ramses and Nefertiti that were saved by the UNESCO during the era of construction the High Dam Abu Simbel Abu Simbel is a temple complex, originally cut into a solid rock cliff, in southern Egypt and located at the second cataract of the Nile River. The two temples which comprise the site (The Great Temple and The Small Temple) were created during the reign of Ramses II (c c BCE) either between BCE and BCE. The discrepancy in the dates is due to differing interpretations of the life of Ramses II by modern day scholars. It is certain, based upon the extensive art work throughout the interior of the Great Temple, that the structures were created, at least in part, to celebrate Ramses victory over the Hittites at the Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BCE. To some scholars, this indicates a probable date of 1264 BCE for the initial construction as the victory would have been fresh in the memory of the people. However, the decision to build the grand monument at that precise location, on the border with the conquered lands of Nubia, suggests to other scholars the later date of 1244 BCE in that it would have had to have been begun after the Nubian Campaigns Ramses II undertook with his sons and was built as a symbol of Egypt's power. On our way back to the cruise visit Awan High Dam. Construction of the High Dam became a key objective of the Egyptian Government following the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, as the ability to control floods, provide water for irrigation, and generate hydroelectricit y were seen as pivotal to Egypt's industrialization. The High Dam was constructed between 1960 and 1970, and has had a significant impact on the economy and culture of Egypt After the Abu Simbel visit sailing to Kom Ombo (north of Aswan city) Visit Temple of Kom Ombo, an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic dynasty in the Egyptian

6 town of Kom Ombo. Some additions to it were later made during the Roman period. The building is unique because its 'double' design meant that there were courts, halls, sanctuaries and rooms duplicated for two sets of gods. Overnight in cruise. Day 07 - EDFU Temple of Horus (B/L/D) Having your breakfast during hours sailing to EDFU, and visit the temple of Horus in EDFU using the horse carriages(egyptian Cadillac). Temple of Horus, an ancient Egyptian temple located on the west bank of the Nile in the city of EDFU which was known in Greco Roman times as Apollonopolis Magna, after the chief god Horus-Apollo. It is one of the best preserved temples in Egypt. The temple, dedicated to the falcon god Horus, was built in the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BC. Lunch & Dinner will be served on board. Sailing to Luxor. Overnight in cruise. Day 08 - Luxor - Cairo (B/L/D) After breakfast disembark from the cruise, visit The Valley of the Kings where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties of Ancient Egypt). The valley stands on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Thebes (modern Luxor),within the heart of the Theban Necropolis. The wadi consists of two valleys, East Valley (where the majority of the royal tombs are situated) and West Valley, with the 2005 discovery of a new chamber (KV63), and the 2008 discovery of two further tomb entrances, the valley is known to contain 63 tombs and chambers Continue the visit to the Dayr el-bahri, literally meaning, "The Northern Monastery" is a complex of mortuary temples and tombs located on the west bank of the Nile, opposite the city of Luxor, Egypt. This is a part of the Theban Necropolis. The first monument built at the site was the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II of the Eleventh dynasty. It was constructed during the 15thcentury BC. During the Eighteenth dynasty, Amenhotep I and Hatshepsut also built extensively at the site. Photos stop by the colossi of Memnon & visit to an Alabaster Factory before we have the lunch. After the lunch visit the which comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings. Building at the complex began during the reign of Senusret I in the Middle Kingdom and

7 continued into the Ptolemaic period, although most of the extant buildings date from the New Kingdom.. The Karnak complex gives its name to the nearby and partly surrounded, modern village of El-Karnak, and 2.5 kilometers (1.6miles) north of Luxor. After Karnak Temple proceed to Luxor Temple which is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city today known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was founded in 1400 BCE. Known in the Egyptian language as ipet resyt, or "the southern sanctuary." In Luxor there are six great temples, the four on the left bank are known to travellers and readers of travels as Goornah, Deir-el-Bahri, the Ramesseum, and Medinet Habu; and the two temples on the right bank. Evening transfer to Luxor railway station to board the train to Cairo. Day 9 - Cairo Colombo (B) After breakfast Arrival Cairo transfer to 3* Hotel (Shower Room for 3 Hours) Free day at leisure. After transfer to Cairo airport for departure by flight... Come back to Colombo with your sweet memories in Egypt.
