Spend the night in the historic Sacajawea Hotel. Day 5 (Day 6 Ex London) Yellowstone National Park Our next destination, Yellowstone National Park, is the world's first national park and home to a large variety of wildlife including grizzly bear, wolf, bison and elk. This park is so large that its boundaries cross into three states. Most of it is in Wyoming, but parts of the reserve extend into Idaho and Montana. Yellowstone has one of the highest concentrations of geothermal activity on the planet. Herds of bison roam amongst the erupting geysers and steam rises from the various rivers running through the park. A fire in the 1980s ravaged much of the park, but it has recovered to the extent that it is now a living monument to nature's power of regeneration. Day 6 (Day 7 Ex London) Yellowstone National Park Day 8 (Day 9 Ex London) Jackson, Wyoming We'll hit the water today for our included rafting trip down the infamous Snake River, this allows you to take in the incredible scenery as well as get the blood pumping. Baker City, with a population of less than 10,000, is next. This historic gold rush town offers a peek into life at the turn of the last century. Enjoy a stroll through the historic downtown shopping district and relax with a nightcap in our historic hotel. Without the modern amenities of televisions or telephones, it is easy to imagine a time past when life was simple and without the distractions of today's modern world. Watching the setting sun reflect off the lake is a magical experience. Day 12 (Day 13 Ex London) Olympic National Park From the crashing waves of the Pacific coast through coastal rainforests to glacier capped peaks, this is a primeval sanctuary for humans and wild creatures alike; over 95% of Olympic National Park is a designated wilderness area. Leaders will fully explain this option while on your tour, and the whole group will have to agree for this system to run. Transport All of our private vehicles are designed to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the tour. In North America, our 15-seater Fords feature raised ceilings for more headroom, individual captain seats for added comfort and an open centre aisle floor plan, making it easier when getting in and out for those many photo opportunities. WEATHER AND SEASONALITY Day 13 (Day 14 Ex London) Olympic National Park Featured Accommodation: Lake Crescent Lodge Built in 1916 Lake Crescent Lodge is one of the first buildings from the modern era in Olympic National Park. Nestled among the giant fir and hemlock trees, the lodge features comfortable and spacious rooms with wonderful views of the lake; an ideal base camp for the variety of recreational activities available in the park. Experience the charm of a turn-of-the-century resort with its antique furnished lobby conducive to relaxation as you unwind by the stone fireplace, and the wicker-cozy sun porch is the perfect spot for enjoying a spectacular lakeside sunset. Day 14 (Day 15 Ex London) Making our way back to Seattle (the "Emerald City"), there's time to enjoy the lively Pike's Place Market and also the stunning views from the Space Needle observation tower, over 600 feet high! RESPONSIBLE TOURISM Tourism can be a real help to local communities, providing income, positive cultural exchanges and a financial incentive to protect their natural environment. Ours is a 'total approach' to responsible tourism, covering everything from the way we plan and operate our trips to the practices of Exodus as a company. When visiting National Parks we stick to marked trails to reduce our impact on the local environment and we pay entrance fees which go towards supporting conservation efforts in the area. Throughout the trip we employ a 'leave no trace' policy in regard to litter - everything taken into the park is taken out to preserve the local environment. We recycle wherever possible and all leaders are trained in responsible tourism to enable them to follow best practice. For full details of our Responsible Tourism Policy please visit: you are to visit. The information below is primarily for UK passport holders, and other nationalities should check with their travel agent or the relevant embassies. We are not responsible for the actions of local immigration and customs officials, whether at points of entry or otherwise, and any subsequent effects. British, New Zealand, Swiss and most EU passport holders do not need a visa (and enter the country under the Visa Waiver Program), provided they are in possession of an onward air ticket when entering the USA. Visas for the USA are required by some nationalities, including South African, Greek and Portuguese passport holders. All passengers travelling to and from the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) are required to hold a machine-readable passport (MRP). A MRP has the holder's personal details, e.g. name, date of birth, nationality and their passport number contained in two lines of text at the base of the photo page. This text may be read by machine. The US now charges $14 for the visa waiver program and must be paid by credit card. The US authorities have introduced a mandatory requirement for all passengers travelling under the Visa Waiver Programme to register for an Electronic Travel Authority. For additional specifics about the VWP please consult the VWP information on the U.S. Embassy London website. More information and all necessary Internet links can be found at Visa regulations can change without notice: please check the current regulations in good time to obtain a visa if one is required. Vaccinations and Health Travel health can often be something people forget about before going away, but a little preparation and knowledge can go a long way to help you stay fit and healthy while abroad. There are no specific health risks on this trip. PRACTICAL INFORMATION Passports and Visas All nationalities require a full passport that must be valid for 6 months beyond the intended length of stay. It is your responsibility to have the correct personal documents and to obtain your own visa, if one is necessary, in accordance with the regulations of the country 4 The above information can change at short notice; as we are not qualified to answer all your questions about travel health we strongly recommend you contact your Medical Professional or a Travel Health Clinic at least 8 weeks prior to departure for up-to-date information. Insurance - are you adequately covered? You must have adequate travel insurance, and if you are joining a trip which goes to high altitude, you must check that you are covered up to the maximum altitude of the trip. If you are resident in the UK we strongly recommend Exodus travel insurance, which is specifically designed to cover all activities on your trip. Legal Note: all group members joining this tour will be asked to sign a liability waiver at the start of the holiday Customer s Acknowledgement of Risk. This document limits the liability of our main supplier and is standard practice in the United States and on all their tours. As a client of Exodus Travels Ltd, your rights under the Package Travel Regulations (1992) are unaffected, and Exodus remains liable for the actions of our sub-contractors. A copy of this document is available from Exodus if required. If you are a UK citizen and travelling in Europe you should obtain the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from your Post Office. This

5 gives free medical care in many European countries, but should not be considered a substitute for adequate insurance. Local Time GMT -7 hours Tipping (leader and local staff) Tipping is a way of life in North America and, while obviously not compulsory, it is expected. We reccommend a tip of approximately US$50-60 for your leader. Electricity 110 V twin pin US style sockets are widely available. Group, Staff and Support The group will generally be between 6 and 13 people. There will be a local leader and drivers and local guides where needed. Your tour leaders will also take care of all the planning and organisation throughout your tour, they will drive the van taking you from A to B and make sure everything runs smoothly. Your tour leaders are there to make sure you get the most out of your tour; organising activities, providing information and answering any questions you may have as well as sorting out any queries or problems you may encounter. If you have any particular interests or things you would like to do on your tour, then please let your tour leaders know at the beginning of the tour and they will do their best to help you. On our walking tours you will be accompanied by two tour leaders, who will either guide separate hikes or offer additional activities and support to ensure everyone gets the most out of their tour. As interests and capabilities vary, our leaders will typically guide day hikes according to group's needs and the difficulty of particular hikes. Our leaders enjoy spending as much time as possible on the trail with their groups however please bear in mind that it will not always be possible for a tour leader to accompany every hiker when groups divide up to hike different trails. On odd occasions one tour leader may need to stay behind to do some food shopping or arrange other optional activities. The minimum age of clients on this trip is 18 years. MONEY MATTERS Currency Information The national currency of USA is the US Dollar (USD), with an exchange rate of 1.6 to the UK. Exchange rates are correct at the time of publication. Travellers Cheques are accepted and can be a safe way to take your funds but aren't always the most practical. Your spending money needs to cover meals and drinks, optional activities, personal expenses such as laundry, souvenirs and snacks along the way. ATM/Cash points are widely available in all major cities and small towns, but may be limited in some off the beaten track destinations, so we suggest you have US$150 with you in cash. Please see the temperature guide showing the highs and lows that can be expected in key locations that your tour visits. However please remember that this is just a guide and you may encounter a wide variety of temperatures en route due to altitude and unforeseen weather conditions - so it's best to be prepared!
