Explore Europe's most picturesque countries: Austria, Germany (Bavaria) and Switzerland following your overnight flight. Day 2: Friday, April 24, 2015 Vienna, Austria - Tour Begins Your tour begins in Vienna. This evening, meet your fellow travelers for a welcoming dinner featuring a sampling of regional wine vintages and a meal highlighting the local cuisine in the quaint winemaking region of Grinzing. (D) Day 3: Saturday, April 25, 2015 Vienna Get to know Vienna this morning during a locally-guided tour that showcases its architectural marvels. You will visit the incredible Schoenbrunn Palace and see impressive St. Stephen's Cathedral. This afternoon enjoy free time to explore the avenues of Vienna or visit one of its many museums. (B) Day 4: Sunday, April 26, 2015 Vienna - Salzburg After a short drive through the countryside, enjoy a lovely cruise along the Danube, one of Europe s most important waterways. Later, make a stop at the Benedictine Melk Abbey before continuing to the City of Music, Salzburg. Tonight, enjoy dinner at the centuries-old St. Peter s Restaurant. (B, D) Day 5: Monday, April 27, 2015 Salzburg Discover the splendor of Salzburg on a leisurely-paced walking tour of the Old Town. Some of the amazing sights you will see include the Cathedral, Mozart s birthplace and Mirabell Gardens. (B) Day 6: Tuesday, April 28, 2015 Salzburg - Munich, Germany - Oberammergau Today you travel to Germany. In Munich, feel the energy of this lively and fascinating city during a tour that highlights Olympic Park, the world-famous Glockenspiel, and Marienplatz, a beautiful square surrounded by shops, restaurants and cafés. Later in the day, arrive at your home for the next two nights - the quaint village of Oberammergau, renowned for wood carvings and the Passion Play. This evening, it s Diner s Choice tonight s dinner is included and you will choose the perfect spot from a menu of Oberammergau s great restaurants. (B, D) Day 7: Wednesday, April 29, 2015 Oberammergau - Innsbruck, Austria - Oberammergau Enjoy the scenery of the spectacular Bavarian Alps en route to enchanting Innsbruck, located in Tyrolean Austria. Walk through the charming pedestrian streets and see such landmarks as The Golden Roof on a locally-guided tour. It is easy to understand why this city, during the 14th century, was the center of European culture and politics as you wind through the narrow cobblestone streets. (B, D) Day 8: Thursday, April 30, 2015 Oberammergau - Black Forest Today fairytales come to life with a picture stop at Bavaria s most famous castle, King Ludwig s Neuschwanstein. Next you are off to the heart of the stunning Black Forest, a region famous for its artisans who create authentic cuckoo clocks, Hummels and wood carvings! (B) Day 9: Friday, May 1, 2015 Black Forest - Zermatt, Switzerland Welcome to Switzerland! Your first stop en route to Zermatt is at one of the most photographed castles in the world, the Chateau de Chillon, located on serene Lake Geneva. Later, enjoy a short scenic train ride aboard the Matterhorn Gottard Bahn from Tasch to the relaxing pedestrian village of Zermatt in the Swiss Alps. Take a stroll and breathe in the fresh Alpine air. (B, D) Day 10: Saturday, May 2, 2015 Zermatt After an orientation tour of this mountain resort village, the remainder of your day is at leisure. Get an up-close look at the famed Matterhorn, enjoy lunch at a local café, or just relax and explore at your own pace. Vienna Viennese Evening - Dining Experience & Classical Music Concert $99 USD Begin your night with a fabulous dining experience at one of Vienna s most popular and traditional restaurants. After enjoying dinner, experience classical music in true Imperial style during an unforgettable performance at the Schoenbrunn Palace Orangerie. Built in 1755, the imperial court held many elaborate festivities here among the exotic citrus and plants protected in the glittering, baroque Orangerie. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart debuted many pieces here, and it was here that he lost the legendary competition to court composer, Antonio Salieri, judged by the Emperor Joseph II himself. Salzburg Eagle's Nest $60 USD A special treat awaits you today as you travel to the Eagle's Nest - Hitler's former private refuge, built as a teahouse for his 50th birthday. Upon reaching the town of Obersalzberg, you will board specially designed coaches for the adventurous and breathtaking ride along the steep rock walls and gorges which lead to the base of the Kehlstein. A large brass elevator will carry you up the final 365 feet into the Eagle's Nest. From here, you are sure to enjoy the spectacular views in every direction. This option is available during the months of May - October only. Duration: Approximately 4 hours. Please note a minimum of 15 passengers is required. Transportation is included. Zermatt Gornergrat Mountain & Lunch $123 USD A Swiss experience that is not-to-be-missed. First travel up Gornergrat Mountain, via the Cog Railway, Europe's highest mountain railway (10,132 feet). The train crosses impressive bridges and goes through tunnels in the midst of idyllic forests and Alpine meadows for a scenic view of the Matterhorn. Nestled in the heart of the Alps, you will be able to see the majestic mountains of Italy in the distance as you are surrounded by glaciers and snowcapped mountains in every direction. After returning to Zermatt you will be treated to a traditional lunch in one of Zermatt's local restaurants. Transportation is not included as this option is just a short walk from your hotel. Lucerne Mount Pilatus $70 USD Enjoy the splendor of pure nature while gliding over a clear landscape in panoramic gondolas and spectacular cable cars. Ascend Pilatus via a unique excursion on the steepest railway of the world with a gradient of 48%. Upon arrival at the top, soak in the magnificent Alpine view from 7,000 ft. above sea level. During leisure time at the summit, stroll the walkway for views from a different vantage point, or enjoy Swiss culinary delights on your own in one of the various restaurants (lunch is not included). Return back down the mountain by panoramic gondola for yet another bird s eye view. Highest elevation: 7,000 feet. This option is available during the months of May - September only.
