AFTER LORD WRIOTHESLEY WAS GRANTED THE MANOR IN 1547, THE ESTATE THEN PASSED THROUGH THE GODSON, BATHURST, GOODYER, ST JOHN AND MILDMAY FAMILIES. THE TWENTIETH CENTURY SAW THE ESTATE BECOME A BILLETING FOR AIRMEN DURING WORLD WAR II, A SEMINARY FOR MONKS, REEDS SCHOOL FOR GIRLS, DANESHILL PREP AND, OF COURSE, FOUR SEASONS HOTEL. 4 Highwire Adventure Hidden among the woodlands of Dogmersfield Park is the new Highwire Adventure. This exhilarating treetop challenge for thrill seekers of all ages and abilities features both high and low rope course, adrenalin pumping zip wire and a sensational Power Fan. With 24 high and 17 low rope elements to challenge your head for heights, you will be balancing across bridges and traversing through the trees at heights of up to 13 metres. If swinging through the canopies isn t adventurous enough, add to the thrill with The Descent, a breath-taking 235 metre zip wire or try the ultimate free-fall experience with The Power Fan, a hair-raising parachute simulator. 5 Horse Riding Own a Pony Situated on the site of the old dairy, the equestrian facility at Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire caters for riders of all abilities from four years and above. Whether beginner or experienced, lessons or hacks can be arranged Tuesday- Sunday inclusive, from 09:00hrs-16:00hrs, for up to a maximum of 4 people at any one time*. Very popular with our younger guests is our Own a Pony Experience. Young horse fanatics aged between 7-16 years, will join the equestrian team and have fun with the a-z of caring for their very own pony for the day. Our 30 minute tour will take you over the Test Valley to the stunning Bombay Sapphire Distillery, Highclere Castle, internationally recognised as Downton Abbey, returning over the ancestral home of the Duke of Wellington. Our 1 hour tour will take you towards the ancient city of Winchester providing stunning aerial views of the Cathedral before continuing on to Portsmouth, overflying the Historic Harbour, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Spinnaker Tower. On the return pass over the Portsdown Hill forts, and a selection of the south s most beautiful stately homes, include the Goodwood Estate, Motor Racing Circuit and Racecourse. Following the river, you will get spectacular views of the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, St Paul s Cathedral and the Shard continuing as far as Tower Bridge, with stunning views of the O2 and the Thames Barrier. 7 Clay Pigeon Shooting A very popular activity, clay pigeon shooting takes place on the Estate a short stroll from the Hotel. Clays are released from five different platforms. Our qualified instructors will guide you around the shooting circuit offering expert tips and tricks. 9 Falconry Join our expert falconer Simon, for an introduction into falconry and create some unforgettable moments. Our Hawk Walk will take you through some of the hotel s woodland where you can see the terrific Harris Hawk at its finest. You will be guided through how to handle this stunning bird of prey and experience the exhilaration of handling these animals. Our Hawk and Owl Experience offers you the chance to handle both hawks and owls in an intimate setting. You will be able to handle Barn and Eagle Owls as well as experiencing the spectacle of meeting and flying one of our Harris Hawks. If you are looking for the ultimate experience, our Fist Full of Feathers are educational and fun, with lots of interaction and participation. The birds are flown to demonstrate their outstanding natural abilities during which time you will observe the terrific power of the eagles, owls and falcons, which at times will be swooping past at 150 mph! Available for hire from 10:00hrs-22:00hrs there are endless possibilities. Just the two of you why not enjoy a candlelit night cruise? With its log burning stove and intimate feel, the boat provides a unique setting for an unforgettable evening whatever the weather. For family and friends, enhance your boat trip and order a picnic through Concierge, or savour a meal for up to 8 people around the gallery table. Our homestyle menus are sure to provide a fun experience, with your every need being taken care of by your Four Seasons crew. For larger gatherings, accommodating up to a maximum of 20 people, the barge provides the ultimate venue for cocktail and canapé receptions. Searching for that out-of-the-box meeting venue? boardroom style for 8, or theatre style for up to 15, the boat will certainly provide the perfect location for creative thinking. 11 Fishing Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire has a lake on the property s Estate, known as Belvedere Pond. From tranquil fishing for one to organising a group activity for up to 15 people over five platforms, we are delighted to offer trout and pike fishing on this 11th century pond. Fishing is on a catch and release basis and is offered daily from 09:00hrs sundown throughout the year. In need of some expert tuition? Learn the art of fly fishing for 13 yrs and upwards (weather permitting) with our fully qualified Instructor, or Family Fun Fishing for families and children under the age of 13 yrs, a chance to catch the hard fighting Four Seasons Rainbow Trout. 12 Running, Cycling and Walking Set in 500 acres, we have a never-ending number of running, cycling and walking trails for you to enjoy. Adult and children s bikes are available from The Spa on a first come, first served basis. To add that wow factor, our team can set up anything from an impromptu lunch to a surprise barbecue for you en route, at selected points during your trip. Or let us make up individual backpacks for you when you want to take a break from running, cycling or walking. We are fortunate to have the Basingstoke Canal running through the Estate. Steeped in history, the canal offers picturesque routes for walks, jogs or bike rides along the towpath. where World War I fortifications can be spotted along the way. The Waterwitch Walk (3 miles) and The Barley Mow Loop (4 miles) both offer wonderful walks and tempting stops at charming local pubs. Local resident and successful author Rus Slater, is delighted to offer accompanied walks on the byways and towpaths surrounding the Hotel. During a relaxing stroll of approximately seven kilometres, you will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the locality amongst beautiful views and scenery. 13 Croquet Set within the Hotel s original heritage listed gardens, guests can play croquet April September from sunrise to sunset. West Green House Gardens 15 minutes Centered around an 18th century manor these long neglected gardens have been lovingly restored by internationally acclaimed gardener and author Marylyn Abbott. Surrounding Hampshire Villages 15 minutes Whether it is for antique shopping, thatched cottages, local pubs, boutiques or galleries, there is an abundance of typical English villages and small market towns within minutes of the Hotel. Jane Austen s House & Museum 25 minutes This was Jane Austen s last home where she lived with her mother and sister Cassandra from It was here that she revised her earlier manuscripts and wrote new books such as Mansfield Park and Emma. Winchester 35 minutes Winchester is an unspoilt cathedral city on the edge of the South Downs. It is England s ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great. Stonehenge 55 minutes The ancient stone circle of Stonehenge is one of the wonders of the world and to this day its purpose is still being debated.

Highclere Castle 45 minutes Home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon Highclere Castle also features as Downton Abbey, the hugely successful drama series with over 11 million viewers in the UK, now shown in over 100 countries around the world. Day out with the children From as little a drive as 15 minutes The surrounding area offers fun days out for children of all ages from Birdworld and Peppa Pig World to Legoland, there is something for all the family to enjoy. 16 Kids For All Seasons Upon arrival, each child will receive a personal invitation to join Hampshire s Kids For All Seasons programme, the Hotel s organised children s programme. Children are introduced to their new friends and to the Four Seasons team who will supervise activities. This service is complimentary. Please enquire when making your reservation with us or ask Concierge for details on your arrival. Children s activities may include games, crafts, reading stories, watching movies and cartoons, touring the Equestrian Centre, kite-flying, football, frisbee, or treasure and scavenger hunts. Henry s Hangout, our children s outdoor play area, is located in front of Games Reeds Cottage, the home of Kids for All Seasons. Additionally, parents of children under 14 years of age are required to be present at all times while their children are in the swimming pool. The vitality pool is for the use of guests aged 16 years and older. 17 Games Reeds Cottage Golf For our guests of 10 years and above we are delighted to welcome them to Reeds Cottage. On check-in, a special key will be provided giving daily access to foosball tables, air hockey and other fun games. Reeds Cottage is open from 09:00hrs 21:00hrs. From the professional courses of Bearwood Lakes and North Hants, to the Intermediate courses of Oak Park and Sherfield Oaks, there are courses for everyone to play.

Take in the crystal clear water and beautiful natural surroundings as you walk along the River Test. Discover the ten exotic botanicals in Bombay Sapphire gin in the Glasshouses and Botanical Dry Room. Take a look behind the scenes of the unique Vapour Infusion distillation process and immerse yourself in the history of gin and Bombay Sapphire in the Gin Academy. Every guest receives a drink on the house in the Mill Bar alongside the beautiful River Test. In celebration of the opening of the Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke Mill in 2014, The Laverstoke cocktail was created by blending seasonal botanical flavours to reflect the versatility of the world famous gin. You can savour this uplifting creation in Bar 1086 overlooking Dogmersfield Park, or you can easily replicate it at home to enjoy with friends and family. The Laverstoke Cocktail To re-create it, squeeze two lime wedges into a large wine glass and add 10mls Bottlegreen elderflower cordial, 15mls Martini Bianco & 50mls Bombay Sapphire then swirl to mix. Fill the glass full of good quality cubed ice and stir to chill. Using a bar spoon, pour approx. 100mls of Fever-Tree ginger ale over the ice and stir gently to mix. Garnish your creation with one or two thin slivers of freshly shaved ginger and a large mint sprig flourish. Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Jane Austen the Dancing Years Tour Suggested Length: All day or half a day Explore her countryside, discover the author. Wander around the picturesque villages that Jane Austen knew, her birthplace and her father s church in Steventon. See the country houses where she danced, fell in and out of love, and trace the people she mentions in her letters. Visit a landscape remarkably unchanged since the 1770 s, lunch in a country inn and spend the afternoon in the Jane Austen House Museum. Hidden Hampshire Suggested Length: All day Discover some of the hidden gems of Hampshire; visit an antique shop in Odiham filled with enchanting history, visit the pretty villages of Greywell, Mapledurwell and South Warnborough. Lunch at the excellent Purefoy Arms in the exquisite Candover valley and enjoy shopping in the Georgian town of Alresford before returning back to the Hotel to relax. Downton Abbey Suggested Length: All day Visit the real Downton Abbey at Highclere Castle, home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon and one of the most famous historic houses in England. The journey will take you through the charming villages of Kingsclere and Old Burghclere before reaching Highclere, where you can lunch in the Carnarvon Arms, a cosy inn part of the Marco Pierre White group. Finally, visit Steventon, the birthplace of Jane Austen, before heading back to Dogmersfield. Silk & Gin Suggested Length: Half day Enjoy a short drive into Test Valley, famous for its trout finishing, before exploring England s oldest silk mill in the village of Whitchurch. A gem of industrial heritage in rural Hampshire, the Whitchurch Silk Mill is a Georgian water mill that weaves silk using 19th century machinery, and stands in its original building since Afterwards, enjoy a spot of lunch followed by a visit to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, where you will uncover the craftsmanship infused into every drop of the world famous gin. National Trust Day Suggested Length: Half day Visit a classic English country house where history spans the centuries. From its royal beginnings in Tudor times to its place today as an intriguing retreat for you to explore, you can lose yourself in the surroundings that inspired some of the greatest British authors. 20 Dog Sitting Pets are part of a family and, for many people, a holiday or a visit to the countryside just isn t complete without them. We have always invited our guests to bring their dogs to stay and are delighted that they will now be greeted by our very own Oliver Beckington. As guests to Dogmersfield Park, your dog will experience its own little luxuries and personalised welcome amenities with elegant dog beds, grooming products, feeding bowls and treats. Followers of four legged fashion will be able to purchase a selection of dog accessories from the hotel s boutique. Please chat with our Concierge team to find out more about our range of dog-friendly activities as well as dog-sitting services to ensure you a most comfortable and convenient stay. The Hotel is prepared to accommodate your pet in the room provided that your pet is no larger than a full grown Labrador, and that they are fully house trained and is at least 6 months of age. We regret that pets are not allowed in any areas serving food or beverages, nor are they allowed in the Spa or Pool areas of the Hotel. This exclusion does not apply to guide dogs.
