( 観光 MICE 推進室 ) 公益社団法人京都市観光協会 ( プロジェクト推進課 ) 公益財団法人京都文化交流 コンベンションビューロー ( 国際観光コンベンション部 ) 京都市認定通訳ガイドによるガイドツアー ( 英語 ) の試行実施について 京都市及び ( 公財 ) 京都文化交流コンベンションビューローでは, 昨年度から, 国の特区制度を活用し, 外国語で京都の奥深い魅力を伝えることができる京都市独自の認定通訳ガイド 京都市ビジターズホスト の育成を行っています この度, 京都市ビジターズホスト第 1 期生が, 京都迎賓館及び二条城において実施されるガイドツアー ( 英語 ) に従事しますので, お知らせします いずれも, 英語によるガイドツアーとしては初めて実施するもので, 増加する外国人観光客に対し, 通訳ガイドならではのきめ細かな観光案内を行い, 試行実施で得られた知見を踏まえ, 今後の本格運用につなげてまいります 記 1 京都迎賓館における英語ガイドツアー昨年 7 月から通年公開が開始され, 外国人観光客は, オーディオガイドによる対応のみでしたが, 今回初めて, 京都市ビジターズホストによる英語でのガイドツアーが実施されます (1) 期間平成 29 年 2 月 6 日 ( 月 )~2 月 23 日 ( 木 ) 水曜日を除く15 日間 接遇行事の都合上, 休止または延長の場合あり午後 0 時 30 分から約 1 時間 ( 集合時間 : 正午 ( ツアー開始 30 分前 )) (2) 対象中学生以上 (2004 年 4 月 1 日以前に生まれた方 ) (3) 料金大人 1,500 円, 中高生 700 円 (4) 申込方法京都迎賓館のウェブサイト ( 英語 ) で前日午後 5 時までに申し込み 先着 34 名 定員に満たない場合に限り, 現地での当日申込可 (5) 主催京都迎賓館 (6) 協力公益財団法人京都文化交流コンベンションビューロー 1

2 2 二条城におけるガイドツアー ( 英語 ) 外国人観光客は, これまで自由観覧か多言語のオーディオガイドによる対応のみでしたが, 今回初めて, 京都市ビジターズホストによる英語でのガイドツアーを実施します (1) 期間平成 29 年 2 月 6 日 ( 月 )~2 月 24 日 ( 金 ) 土日を除く15 日間 2 月 6 日 ( 月 )~17 日 ( 金 ) 午後 1 時から約 1 時間 30 分 2 月 20 日 ( 月 )~24 日 ( 金 ) 午後 1 時から約 3 時間 ( ) 二条城に加え近隣の伝統文化体験施設や工房 京都三条会商店街等を巡るプレミアムツアー (2) 対象 20 歳以上の外国人観光客 (3) 料金試行実施のため無料 ( ただし, 入城料は別途必要 ) (4) 申込方法事前申込不要 当日, 現地 ( 北大手門入城後 ) で先着順 6 日 ~17 日は各回 10 名,20 日 ~24 日は各回 5 名 (5) 主催公益社団法人京都市観光協会 (6) 協力京都市, 公益財団法人京都文化交流コンベンションビューロー 観光庁 地域資源を活用した観光地魅力創造事業 を活用 ガイドツアーのイメージ 参考 京都市認定通訳ガイド制度の概要京都市では, 国の特区制度を活用して, 急増する外国人観光客の満足度向上, 新たな雇用の創出, 京都経済の活性化を目指し, 平成 27 年 12 月から, 外国語で京都の奥深い魅力を伝えることができる通訳ガイドの育成 確保を図る京都市認定通訳ガイド制度を運用しています また, 京都企業のビジネス拡大, 通訳ガイドの活躍の場を確保するため, 外国人観光客や京都の観光事業者等とのマッチングを支援する面談会を実施するとともに, 京都市認定通訳ガイド ( 京都市ビジターズホスト ) を紹介する検索サイト クレマチス を昨年 9 月に開設しました 第 2 期の研修受講生については,400 名を超える応募の中から選考を通過した約 6 0 名が2 月から研修を受講し, 本年夏ごろには京都市認定通訳ガイドとして認定される予定です 2

3 Kyoto State Guest House Special Public Opening with English Guided Tours Special Guided Tours in Fuji no Ma (Wisteria Room) English! Kyoto State Guest House was built in 2005 as a place to receive foreign visitors and offer them Japan s finest and most heartfelt hospitality. Located here in the heart of Japan s iconic city of history and culture, it serves as a place to increase understanding of Japan and deepen international goodwill. The Kyoto State Guest House has received dignitaries from all over the world, including Former U.S. President George Bush, German Chancellor Angela Dorothea Merkel, and South Korean diplomat and Former Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon. In contrast with its western style counterpart in Tokyo, the Akasaka Palace and State Guest House, the Kyoto State Guest House is a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese architecture and interior design. The guest house and its furnishings were crafted with the cooperation of some of Japan s greatest traditional artisans and includes the work of Japanese Living National Treasures. This is an incredible and rare opportunity to see their masterpieces up close and experience a space that was designed to be the ultimate expression of Japanese craftsmanship and hospitality. For the first time, the Kyoto State Guest House will be offering guided tours in English! Dates open to public Time Cost To Participate Monday, February 6, 2017 Thursday, February 23, 2017 (Closed on Wednesdays) Note: Dates may change in the case of an official reception, etc. The period of the special public opening may be changed and/or extended. (Tour is approximately 1 hour) Adults 1,500 Yen, Jr. High / High School Yen (Must be born April 1, 2004 or earlier to participate.) Admission Cards will be available for purchase at the door only when tickets have not sold out in advance.

4 Entrance The dramatic entryway and hallways are all made out of Japanese lumber. The floors are made out of the wood of the Japanese Zelkova tree, the ceilings are Japanese Cedar, and the walls are finished simply and elegantly with traditional Japanese plaster. The doors of the entryway are made out of massive boards cut from a 700 year old Zelkova tree. Fuji no Ma The largest room, the Fuji no Ma (Wisteria Room), is used for receptions and banquets. The tapestry is woven with the design of 39 different flowers. The stage doors were decorated with platinum and gold leaf by a Japanese Living National Treasure using the Kirikane technique which is usually used in Buddhist statuary and paintings. The ceiling lighting is made of a latticework of Kyoto-style joinery that can be arranged into 15 different configurations and uses Honminoshi Paper (UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage) to diffuse the light. Kiri no Ma In the Kiri no Ma (Paulownia Room) colors are more reserved allowing the natural materials, like wood, paper, lacquer, and straw tatami floors to take center stage, revealing the depth of Japan s peaceful aesthetic. The 12 meter black lacquer table offers guests an optimal view to gaze out at the gardens. Inui Gate Doshisha Univ. These guides are officially certified by the City of Kyoto and have undergone special training including an extensive curriculum of history, culture and traditional arts as well as guiding and communication skills.
