6 Public transport (PT) in Queensland Responsible for the delivery of passenger transport services across the whole of Queensland. TransLink is the brand under which public transport services operate in South East Queensland, Cairns and soon Mackay and Toowoomba. 6
7 TransLink Division State-wide responsibility for: Mass transit including rail, bus, ferry and light rail) Taxis and limousines Long distance rail, coaches and regional air. We manage: $1.6bn annual public transport service contracts 5 year service planning and service integration Fares, ticketing and revenue protection Customer information Upgrades to public transport facilities (for example: stops, stations, park n rides). One central point of contact for one single integrated network. 7
8 TransLink regional network 33 contracts for regional urban bus services all private operators More than 1,200 contracts for school bus services Approximately 3,250 taxis and 550 limousines throughout Queensland 7 air service route contracts for rural and remote communities (2 operators) 6 long distance coach service contracts. 8
9 SEQ PT services Integrated network of bus, train, tram and ferry services. Currently: around two thirds of all trips are carried by bus in the TransLink network catered for million passenger trips the equivalent of 152 million less car trips on our roads more than 86% of all SEQ public transport journeys are taken using GoCard 9
10 SEQ delivery partners TransLink contracts 19 bus, train, tram and ferry operators to provide transport services across South East Queensland. TransLink also works with government agencies at local, state and federal levels on public transport projects. 10
