Why are we going? We re on our way! What will we see & do? About our travel company
Getting there We will depart from school by coach at 3.45am promptly on Monday 2nd July. We expect to arrive at Manchester airport at 3.40 am to check in, and we fly to Berlin Schoenefeld at 6:30am (Easyjet Flight Number EZY1897) landing at 9:50am Berlin time. Please drop your child off at school at 3.30am on Monday 2nd July Returning home We will leave Berlin at 6:40pm on Friday 6 th July (Easyjet Flight Number EZY1896) and arrive at Manchester at 7.45pm and at James Bateman at approx. 10:00pm on Friday 6 th July. Please collect your child at 10:00pm.
Our accommodation We will stay at the Meininger Hotel, Berlin Central Station, for 4 nights towels are provided. This accommodation is on a half board basis. Breakfast and dinner will be provided. Rooms are shared between 3 and 4 pupils. This will be arranged as soon as we have room allocations. Keycards are pupils own responsibility. Lost cards are chargeable at 5 each.
Meal arrangements Breakfast and an evening meal will be provided as part of the package. Bring 5 (recommended) for lunch per day (Monday to Friday) plus additional money for an evening meal on Friday as the last meal provided in the hotel is breakfast.
Breakfast Tends to be: Bread rolls Butter Ham, salami Cheese Jam and honey Yoghurt Fruit Cereal Juice, tea and coffee We do not recommend skipping breakfast, filling up on ice cream and fizzy pop and then spending the day feeling poorly! Evening Meal Tends to be: Similar to breakfast in terms of bread, cheese, salamis etc A hot meal; spaghetti bolognese, curry, goulash Salad
Travel tips money The currency in Germany is the Euro. We recommend that students take 200 with them on the visit, which converts to approximately 225 Euros. Budgeting is the pupil s own responsibility.
Travel tips packing The weather in Germany last July was exceptionally hot. We will be walking around the city a lot too. As such, I recommend that students pack the following essential items for their tour: Sunscreen Sunglasses Sun hat Designate daily funds towards cold drinks.

Attach your label to your bag, give it to the driver and take your seat on the coach. When crossing roads, walking through train stations, boarding and leaving trains, pupils will remain with their assigned staff member. Otherwise, pupils are to enjoy their time in groups of no fewer than three pupils, and must inform their group leader if they are using facilities and on their return etc. Groups do not affect room shares and free time, other than travel on trains etc. Listening skills and behaviour Pupils are asked to listen carefully to instructions and directions throughout the trip, making note of train stops when this is applicable. Pupils are also asked to remember that other tourists and members of the public are staying at the hotel.
