The medieval bridge was erected at the beginning of the 18th century. At the end of 19th century, this old bridge was rebuilt and widened using the latest iron cost technology to match the transportation needs of the growing city. Some of the beautiful design features of the bridge include old lamp posts and images of coats of arms. Today it is an important daily life transport hub of the city for both pedestrians and drivers.
