1 UCAS main scheme applications, Notes on the data The main scheme relates to applications before June 30 each year (so principally excludes applications through clearing). Individuals can submit up to five applications (choices). The average number of applications each person made stayed stable in 2011 and 2012 (4.26 in 2011 and 4.27 in 2012). The data was lodged in the House of Commons Library by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in response to Parliamentary Question by Harrow West MP, Gareth Thomas.
