1 London First Events Calendar London First s mission is to make London the best place in the world for business. We re focused on keeping our capital working for the whole of the UK, and our calendar of events brings business leaders, Whitehall, City Hall and the London boroughs together to achieve this. We host a wide range of events, from exclusive, private events with ministers, to large-scale summits for cross-sector alliance and best practice exchange. Invitation lists are specially tailored to member interests. Around six times a year we host events exclusively for London First partners. Event categories July 2018 Monday 2 July 2018, 7pm for 7.30pm to 9.30pm Fully Subscribed Stansted Dinner Join us to hear for a discussion on how we make the best use of London s existing aviation capacity at a dinner with Ken O Toole, CEO of Stansted Airport. While extra runway capacity remains vital, Stansted has the largest spare potential capacity of any London airport in the shorter term. Its planning application to raise its passenger numbers cap is currently live, as is the Government s development of its aviation strategy. 4 September 2018 Tuesday 4 September 2018, 8am for 8.30am to 9.30am Invitation Only A briefing on the GLA Land Fund and London Development Panel 2 Join us for a briefing and discussion on the GLA s new Land Fund with Simon Powell, Assistant Director of Strategic Projects and Property at the GLA. The 250 million Fund is a key part of the Mayor s more muscular approach to land assembly and increasing housing supply. The Fund will acquire and prepare land for new and affordable housing, working closely with boroughs and the GLA s development partners. Money made from selling the land will be recycled to buy further land for new homes. With the Fund having just bought its first site, this event will provide a timely update about how the Fund will operate, outline its purchasing criteria and discuss its future plans. This event will also include an update on the GLA s newly procured Development Partner Panel (LDP) 2. The LDP2 is pre-approved list of development and construction partners who can bid for new development brought to the panel by public landowners in London.
