2 15 th February 2018 Publications and Content Executive Part Time (2.5 days - flexibility regarding work pattern) Temporary post (6 months March 2018 to August 2018) Salary: 20,225 to 26,390 (FTE) Visit Belfast has an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing professional to join the Marketing and Communications team on a temporary, part time basis. Reporting to the Marketing and Campaigns Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and delivery of a portfolio of publications and marketing collateral and assisting in the implementation of Visit Belfast s marketing and communications activity. The successful candidate will have a degree level qualification, or equivalent, preferably in a related discipline and a minimum of one years experience in marketing, publishing or communications. Proven experience of producing marketing and editorial content and excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills is essential. Visit Belfast is the city region s Destination Marketing Management Organisation (DMMO) dedicated to marketing Belfast as a city break, conference, day trip and cruise ship destination. It also, in its visitor servicing role, manages the operation of three gateway Visitor Information Centres (VICs) and a range of visitor servicing initiatives. Visit Belfast represents over 500 tourism businesses and services representing all aspects of the visitor experience. Visit Belfast s core purpose is to create and service visitors for Belfast and Northern Ireland in order to generate an economic benefit for the city region, creating jobs and wealth. Visit Belfast s marketing and sales activity has delivered over 350m to the local economy in the last four years. Our relationships and engagement with our tourism partners is key to the ongoing success of Visit Belfast and central to delivering our tourism, marketing and sales plans for the Belfast City Region. Visit Belfast also operates Visitor Information Centres (VICs) at George Best Belfast City Airport (GBBCA) and Belfast International Airport (BIA) and pop up information desks off-site i.e. on cruise ships or during conferences and events. Travel both inside and outside the UK will form part of your job. 3

5 Job Description POSITION: DEPARTMENT: REPORTING TO: SALARY RANGE: Publications and Content Executive Part Time (2.5 days - flexibility regarding work pattern) Temporary post (6 months March 2018 to August 2018) Marketing and Communications Department Marketing and Campaigns Manager 20,225 to 26,390 (FTE) PURPOSE: Reporting to the Marketing and Campaigns Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the management and delivery of the portfolio of publications and marketing collateral, supporting the Marketing and Communications team in the implementation of Visit Belfast s marketing and communications activity in line with set objectives and targets. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Responsible for the coordination and management of the design, copywriting, content editing and production of key publications including Belfast City Guide, Main Visitor Guide and other publications and collateral as required. 2. Generation of offline content for promotional literature and when required online content for digital channels, ensuring that key themes and products are incorporated. 3. Assist with maintaining and updating the Visit Belfast and partner image library, ensuring copyright/ownership rights are observed. 4. Assist the Commercial Executive in meeting advertising income targets for publications through promotion and sales of advertising space to partners and sponsors. 5. Assisting the Marketing and Campaigns Manager with the management of publication activity and budget, providing regular updates on activity and related spend. 6. Working with the external design agencies in respect of briefing and delivery of publications and marketing materials within set budgets and timescales. 7. To liaise with key stakeholders and partners on a regular basis, in the gathering of content for marketing and promotional materials as appropriate. 8. Ensure comprehensive Belfast and Northern Ireland product knowledge is fully developed and maintained keeping abreast of all new products, initiatives, developments, events and festivals. 9. To undertake other duties as required by the Marketing & Campaigns Manager, the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Visit Belfast senior management team. 5

6 OTHER: 1. To undertake, when necessary, work out of normal office hours. 2. To carry out all duties with full regard to Visit Belfast s equal opportunities and fair employment policies. 3. 7 Personnel Specification Essential Criteria Desirable Criteria Qualifications Degree level qualification, or equivalent. Degree level qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline such as marketing, communications, public relations, business studies or English. Relevant Experience Special Aptitudes Circumstances Minimum 1 years experience in a marketing, publishing or communications related discipline. Proven experience of producing marketing or editorial content and collateral. Excellent writing, proofreading and content editing skills. Proven experience in the use of all Microsoft applications. Experience in the production and distribution of marketing materials. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Results orientated individual. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to build and support internal and external relationships. Self-starter, energy, drive, enthusiasm and team player. Available to work outside normal hours as required. Available to attend industry events and attend client meetings and social events which may be out of hours. This role may require some travel throughout Northern Ireland, UK and Europe. Experience in a publishing environment. Experience working with/managing external design agencies/teams Knowledge of Belfast as a tourism destination. 7
