The management of RSAMI, Pune was taken over by HQ 41 Arty Div from HQ Southern Comd (EME) Branch on 15 Jun A number of projects and initiatives have been taken since then to improve the facilities and improve the infrastructure of the institute. Some of the major milestones achieved in a short span of six months are enumerated in this newsletter 2. It has always been and will be the earnest endeavor of the management committee to further improve the facilities of RSAMI and suggestion from the members on the subject are always welcome and appreciated. 2 NEWS UPDATE FOR THE PERIOD FROM 15 JUN 2015 TO 31 DEC 2015 Management Committee of RSAMI, Pune 1. The management of RSAMI, Pune is as follows:- (a) Maj Gen HS Bedi, VSM - GOC 41 Arty Div - Chairman. (b) Brig JN Pandey - Dy GOC 41 Arty Div - Vice Chairman. (c) Lt Col Patma Kumar - 2IC, 641 EME Bn - Vice Chairman. (d) Brig Arun Tuli (Retd) - Secretary RSAMI (e) Lt Col RK Dhiman (Retd) - Asst Secy-I (Adm) (f) Mr Anish Kadam - Asst Secy-II (IT-Accts) Up-gradation/ Improvement in various Facilities. 2. The following facilities were upgraded/improved:- (a) Trinco Complex. Complete Trinco complex has been renovated and reenergised. A Chinese/Thai specialty restaurant Far East has been started alongwith the existing restaurant which has been named Daawat. A new bar On The Rocks overlooking the greens/ fairways of golf course and lush gardens of RSAMI has been est.

3 2 (b) Auditorium. Multiplex type chairs and improved acoustics have been installed. Drapes and anti mosquitoes wire mesh have also been installed. (c) Knock Out Bar. To ease out the rush on existing Polo Bar on the ground floor, a new bar, Knock Out at erstwhile loc of Coffee Shop on the ground floor has been commissioned. This bar has been equipped with English Rock/Jazz music played through the TV. (d) Coffee Shop. A new glass walled Coffee Shop overlooking the lush green fairways of golf course has been made. The same has already become very popular with members to reenergise themselves after a swim or a session in the recently re-equipped Gym.

4 3 (e) Party Halls. Erstwhile Committee Room and Oasis Bar on the first floor have been converted into party halls 'Retreat' and 'Oasis' for members to host small gatherings at a very nominal booking cost. The present cost is Rs 1250/- and Rs 750/- respectively for Retreat and Oasis for lunch during the week days ie from Monday to Saturday and Rs 2500/- and Rs 1500/- for dinner on all days and lunch on Sunday. The Retreat can host approx persons while the Oasis can persons. (f) Overall Facade of RSAMI. Stone cladding has been done on the front façade of the building, a new colour scheme has been put on exterior walls, a Buddha statue has been created in the lawns, drapes have been changed while new lamps have been put in lobby to improve the overall ambience of RSAMI.

5 4 (g) Card Rooms. Based on requests of one esteemed member both Card rooms have been re-instituted. Affiliation 3. For convenience of our members at Mumbai, we have managed to convince US club, Mumbai to extend facilities to members (Retd Offrs) of RSAMI also as earlier it was only for members (Serving Offrs). Entertainment Pgmes 4. The following functions were held during the year:- (a) Ghazal & Sufi Night on 18 Jul (b) Dandiya Dance on 18 Oct 2015.

6 (c) Diwali Eve Pgme on 09 Nov (d) New Year Eve Pgme on 31 Dec Farewell of Chief Patron. A social evening was org to bid farewell to the Chief Patron Lt General Ashok Singh, PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, ADC GOC-in-C, Southern Command on 27 Dec Yearly Subscription 6. Yearly Subscription for the year (01 Apr 2016 to 31 Mar 2017) will be charged in the month of Apr Rates of yearly subscription are as under:- (a) Service Offrs (In/Out stn) / Associate Members - Rs 350/- per month. (b) Senior Citizen above 65 Years below 80 Years - Rs 200/- per month. (c) Very Senior Citizen above 80 Years, Widows and gallantry award winners - Rs 50/- per month. 7. All members are requested to have adequate amount in their account to use the RSAMI facilities. Those members who are in debit will not be able to use RSAMI facilities. Members are requested to charge their cards through Debit/Credit Card/Cheque in favour of Secy, RSAMI Pune or through cash. Members are also requested to clear pending dues by online payment to RSAMI bankers acct. (Details of payment made online to be intimated to the institute by please). For delayed payment, a simple interest of 2% per month will be levied on pending amount wef 01 May In case bills remain unpaid for more than four months, action will be initiated to terminate membership (RSAMI Rules & Bye Laws-2013, Part I Rules Para 50(e) and 82 to 84 refer). ID & Mobile No 9. Members who don t have an ID/ Mob No are requested to arrange & register for an alternate ID & mobile No of their dependant family/friends/relatives, for receiving regular message alerts from RSAMI. Clearance on Posting Out 10. Service (In Stn) members are requested to surrender their membership card and obtain clearance cert from RSAMI, Pune before leaving the stn on posting/ retirement. Service Members desirous of retaining the membership as (Out Stn) Service Members are requested to update their address and contact numbers before leaving the stn. Possession of Membership Cards 11. Possession of RSAMI Membership Card by a member, dependents and guests is mandatory for entry at every venue of Institute. Please show your RSAMI card/guest pass on request by RSAMI staff on duty. Members are requested to collect their Smart Cards imdt after swiping and are responsible for its safe custody. 12. Serving Offrs along with dependent family members (Spouse & Children) on temp duty (TD) to Pune or its satellite towns are now permitted Day Long Walk-in-Membership. Offrs are requested to enter particulars in Guest Register and obtain Guest Entry Pass of Rs 25/- per head by showing their service iden card/dependant cards and by showing any ID proof. Temp pre paid Smart card will be issued for utilization of bar & restaurant facilities only. The temp prepaid smart cards are to be returned back to RSAMI on the same day and balance/unused amount collected. No guests of walk-in members will be permitted. Walk-in-membership is applicable for entry to bar and restaurant only. Extra guest charges as applicable shall be charged for other facilities.

8 7 Smoking in the RSAMI Complex 13. RSAMI is a No Smoking Zone. Any member found smoking in RSAMI campus (Open Air Theatre and outside area, Lawn, Bars, Card Rooms, Restaurant, Café Code Red, Parking etc.) will be charged Rs 500/- penalty for every default. Member who wish to smoke are requested to use the area around Gazebos (towards Golf Course) marked as Smoking Zone.
