2 pgl escorted travel to UK centres summer 2017 In this leaflet you will find all the details you need to know about the escorted travel services we offer. Please read it carefully and if, after booking your travel, you have any questions, contact our team on our customer travel helpline before the day of travel. Our summer 2017 escorted travel options Fully Escorted Travel (UK transfers) page 3-4 Children are escorted by coach or rail from a parent drop off point to the PGL centre and back to the meeting point. Fully Escorted Travel (from selected airport and Eurostar transfers) page 5 Children are escorted by coach from the airport or station to the PGL centre and back again. Parents can also use these meeting points as a drop off for children to join the ongoing travel to the centre. Train station transfers page 6 PGL staff meet your child at the nearest train station to the PGL centre and escort them to the centre and back to the train station. How to book or amend travel arrangements If you wish to add travel to your booking please call our team at least 7 days prior to departure, although we recommend, to ensure availability, that this is done well in advance of this time frame. Please note, full payment is required at the time of adding this service. Any amends made after confirmation need to be made within 7 days of travel and can be subject to an administration fee of 25. If you cancel travel arrangements within 14 days of travel, please be advised that all fees are forfeited. All cancellations need to be confirmed in writing via to holidays@pgl.co.uk. If you have booked ANY of our escorted travel services, please check your Booking Confirmation Document to ensure you have booked the correct route and make sure you are aware of drop off/ collection points and times. 2 Escorted Travel to UK centres

3 fully escorted travel UK Transfers The PGL Fully Escorted Travel service includes escorting your child (by coach or train) from a parent meeting point to the PGL centre and back again. Please see the table below for each designated parent meeting points and the timings. Key information before travelling Ensure you have completed your child s medical and contact forms before the day of travel. This can be found in your MyPGL account and completed online or downloaded and handed in to the PGL courier at the meeting point. Please provide a packed lunch as the first meal is the evening meal at the PGL centre. We make every effort to ensure the coach/ train arrives and departs on time. There may be a time where this is delayed due to reasons beyond our control. Please wait at the meeting point and call the customer travel helpline if the coach/train has not arrived within a reasonable time. Our PGL Travel Representatives can be easily identified at the meeting points by their blue and yellow PGL T-shirts or jackets. If your child is travelling alone, please ensure they are always contactable by carrying a fully charged mobile phone. They should have suitable luggage that they can manoeuvre with ease. Ensure your child is aware of our coach seat belt policy. PGL Staff will take reasonable steps to ensure they are worn at all times. These steps include public announcements on the coach that they must be worn at all times, periodic checking during the journey and reporting to centre/hq if passengers do not comply. In this case, parents will be contacted and the child will not be transported again unless they promise to comply. On the day of departure from the PGL centre, breakfast and a basic packed lunch will be provided by PGL. Please note there are particularly early departure times for Tregoyd House, Hillcrest and Boreatton Park to London. Train tickets Where our escorted travel services include rail travel, train tickets are booked by PGL and held by the PGL Travel Representative meeting your child at the station. Coach Parents can also use Heathrow, Gatwick and Birmingham airports, and Eurostar St Pancras, as meeting points for their children to join onward travel with those arriving by air/eurostar. Please call us for details. Please ensure you arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the outbound travel times listed above. Our PGL Travel Representatives have a list of all guests booked onto the service. Please check your child in with them and remain with your child until it is time to board. Do not board the coach/ train without permission from the PGL Travel Representative. All timings are correct at the time of going to print (February 2017) but we reserve the right to change timings if necessary. 4 kempton park London Meeting Point Kempton Park Race Course, London, is used as a central meeting point for most escorted travel routes to and between the following PGL centres: Windmill Hill, Sussex Marchants Hill, Surrey Osmington Bay, Dorset Little Canada, Isle of Wight Liddington, Wiltshire Hillcrest, Herefordshire Tregoyd House, Powys Boreatton Park, Shropshire Don t forget! We also offer inter-centre transfers for children staying at two or more different centres. Please note inter-centre transfers are not available at all the centres listed above, please call us for details. We also collect guests from Heathrow, Gatwick and Birmingham airports and London St Pancras (Eurostar) to be transported to Kempton Park Race Course to join the coach for the onward travel to their PGL centre (see page 5 for details). Please note that the waiting period at Kempton Park Race Course depends on flight/train/eurostar arrival times for all guests travelling to the same PGL centre. The average waiting period is 1½ hours (very occasionally in extreme cases it can be up to 4 hours). Guests will be met by a team of PGL Travel Representatives who will provide entertainment whilst they wait. A snack bar will also be available selling a selection of hot and cold drinks, fruit and snacks at a small cost. Children travelling to or from London/ Boreatton Park will also have a 50 minute stop at Oxford for a comfort break. Please ensure that if your child is using a fully escorted travel return service, or changing from one centre to another, they have enough spending money allocated for the snack bar at Kempton Park Race Course. Getting to Kempton Park Kempton Park Race Course, Staines Road East, Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex, TW16 5AQ. Kempton Park Race Course is well signposted. Please follow the entrance marked PGL Cars. The management at the race course are not involved in the operation of PGL travel and will not be able to assist you. If you wish to contact PGL Staff at the race course you must ring the customer travel helpline. By train Saturday service every half an hour from London Waterloo to Sunbury Station, please call National Rail Enquiries (Tel: ) to confirm train times. Please allow 15 mins to walk from the station to the meeting point. By taxi Parker Car Service offer a service to Sunbury Cross and can be contacted on By car Please see the map on the right. Heavy traffic in the area may create lengthy delays, so please allow plenty of time for your journey. By bus From Hounslow bus station (2 mins walk from Hounslow East Service Underground Station) take the route 235 to Sunbury Cross. Approx journey time 30 mins. From Twickenham Railway Station, route 290 to Sunbury Cross departs approx every 20 mins (journey time approx. 35 mins). Travel times can be obtained from Transport For London. 5 fully escorted travel Airport and Eurostar Transfers The PGL Fully Escorted Airport and Eurostar service includes escorting your child (by coach) from Heathrow, Gatwick or Birmingham airports or London St Pancras International, to the PGL centre (stopping off at Kempton Park Race Course on the way through) and back again. Parents can also use these four meeting points as drop off points for their children to join the ongoing journey to the centre. Please call us for meeting times and locations. Inbound train meeting times: Saturdays arrival from Paris (UK time) Saturdays arrival from Brussels (UK time) Return train meeting times: Saturdays departure to Paris (UK time) Saturdays departure to Brussels (UK time) All flight/train tickets and reservations are YOUR responsibility. Please check that the flights/train you have booked arrive and depart within the times shown above. In order to confirm your coach travel to and from your PGL centre it is vital that you let us know your train/flight arrival and departure times at the time of booking. 5 Escorted Travel to UK centres Our PGL Travel Representatives, wearing the PGL uniform, will meet guests at each terminal or exit of the arrivals lounge where we have guests arriving on inbound flights/trains. At the end of the holiday we will escort your child back to the airport/station and wait with them until we are able to check them in and see them through Passport Control or on board their train. Heathrow, Gatwick and Birmingham International airports and St Pancras station are very busy during July and August. Your child should carry this sheet in his/her hand in case assistance is required. Please inform your child that under no circumstances must they leave the terminal building unless they are with one of our representatives. Children travelling alone Flights If travelling without an adult, we recommend that you book the unaccompanied minor service for your child directly with your airline. If you book this service, you may require a PGL Travel Representative s name and contact number. Please use 0044 (0) and Hollie Powell. Please be aware this is a name used for unaccompanied minor services only, please avoid using this name for other purposes. Eurostar Children under 12 must travel with a responsible person aged 16 or older year olds can travel on their own, as long as they have a fully completed Eurostar Unaccompanied Minor Form. This can be downloaded from the Eurostar website under the Travel Info tab in the Special Travel Needs section (www. eurostar.com). This must be signed by their parent or legal guardian (or by a responsible adult given consent by the parent or legal guardian) at the station in the presence of a member of the Eurostar team. Any guests aged 16 or over can travel alone, as long as they have all the usual travel documents and meet the legal requirements.

6 train station transfer Available every Saturday throughout 2017 The PGL Train Station Transfer service includes escorting your child from the nearest train station to the PGL centre and back again. Please see the table below for the train stations that we operate this service from. Train tickets Please note this service does not include train tickets, which you must book and give to your child in advance (including return tickets for the end of the holiday). Tickets can be handed in for safe-keeping once your child has arrived at our centre and they will be handed back to your child at the train station, before they board the train home. Children travelling alone For children old enough to travel unaccompanied (12 years+), we highly recommend that you also read and follow the British Transport Police s guidelines for unaccompanied children which can be found by visiting under the travel advice section. Please also ensure your child is carrying a fully charged mobile phone on their unaccompanied train journey with a charger for return journeys too, so you have a means of contact with them whilst they are not in the care of PGL. A PGL Travel Representative will meet arrivals at the station between and and at the end of the holiday, they will return guests to the station for trains departing between and This service is available throughout 2017 for Saturday arrivals and departures to and from the stations listed in the table below. PGL CENTRE NEAREST TRAIN STATION MEETING POINT Beam House, Devon Barnstaple There is one platform in the station. Staff will meet passengers as they disembark. Boreatton Park, Shropshire Shrewsbury Passengers need to make their way to the main entrance and exit barrier where staff will be waiting in the ticket office. Caythorpe Court, Lincolnshire Grantham 6 Escorted Travel to UK centres Passengers need to make their way inside to the main foyer where staff will be waiting. Dalguise, Perthshire Pitlochry Passengers need to make their way to the main entrance and exit barrier where staff will be waiting. Hillcrest, Herefordshire Hereford Passengers need to make their way to the main entrance where staff will be waiting at the ticket office. Liddington, Wiltshire Swindon Passengers need to make their way outside where staff will be waiting outside the main exit on street level. Little Canada, Isle of Wight Portsmouth Harbour Station Passengers must make their way to platform 1 where staff will be waiting next to the Wightlink Fastcat entrance. Marchants Hill, Surrey Haslemere Passengers need to make their way to the main entrance and exit barrier where staff will be waiting. Osmington Bay, Dorset Weymouth Passengers need to make their way to the end of the platform where all 4 platforms meet and staff will be waiting. Tregoyd House, Powys Abergavenny Passengers need to make their way to the only entrance/exit where staff will be waiting. Winmarleigh Hall, Lancashire Lancaster Passengers need to make their way to the main entrance where staff will be waiting at the ticket office on the Northbound platform.
